Tofu Magician from Paya Lebar Square!
They specialise in soybean related product! The most famous one is the Signature Soy Milk Tea with White Jade (which is chewy mochi balls).
We went at the perfect right time on a friday night. There was no queue and there were 2 available seats for us to enjoy the “dine in” experience (note: they only have 2 dine-in seats, and the “seats are right beside the waiting queue so it is a v awkward area haha)! They pack their drinks differently whether it is for dine in or takeaway. For dine in, there will be soybean powder dusted on top of the mochi balls as well. For takeaway, the mochiballs will be packed separately, there will still be some soybean powder dusted on the top of the drink, but you wont get the soybean powder on the mochi balls.
It is recommended to eat the mochi balls first with the soybean powder and creamy foamy soya milk foam layer. First impression, the mochi balls were kinda way too sticky/tough. I had difficulty getting the mochi balls off the stick to eat haha. Not the soft chewy kind that one will expect. The mochi ball itself is pretty tasteless. For the soymilk drink, there is a choice of hot or cold. But when ordering I was not asked which I will like, and the typical choice given was cold, which I quite enjoyed! There is also no customisation of sugar level for their soymilk drink. The Soymilk drink was thirsty quenching and it also contained some aiyu jelly like pudding in it, which I love!
I waited for 4 months before I finally came to try this! (was waiting for promotion / good deals, and the opportunity finally came with Chope Voucher Sales during Chope’s Birthday! Got 2 cups at the price for $6.90 instead of 1 for $6.20. Although there was an even better deal on Chope for like $1 or $2 for one cup or something, but i was a tiny second late in carting out the order and order wasnt successful sads) Whether I will buy it again at normal price, at $6.20 per cup, I think maybe no. Only if there are good promotions again :)
