What I enjoyed most was the crispness of the batter and freshness of the chicken, prawn and vegetables. Always go for your don first and leave the side dishes (chawanmushi & miso soup) for later. The crisp batter will turn soft in a short time (it's just science) and you don't want that. It's a really fulfilling meal and I can see why there's always a very long queue! Pro-tip: Visit on Sunday 1:45pm when you could almost get a seat immediately.
