Yanxi Dimsum & Hotpot is a banquet hall turned restaurant with a dual concept of dim sum and hotpot.
Their dim sums are crafted exquisitely and delicately, and I would say a little different and unique from what you can get outside.
Some of my favorites included the 3.6 Hokkaido Milk Charocal Egg Tart, Mapo tofu in crispy beancurd skin roll, crispy gold dusted black tofu & Quail egg & bonito flakes siew mai.
Special mention about their Hokkaido Milk Egg Tarts which are freshly baked on the spot. It has a warm, creamy, smooth and milky filling which burst right in your mouth as you bite into it. On the other hand their Mapo tofu in crispy beancurd roll is also amazingly good. The mapo tofu has the 麻 & the 辣, yet it’s not overwhelming. It has a refreshing kick to it.
Not the most accessible place, and they used to have a lot more dim sum options on their menu previously. But those 2 particular dishes will probably be what I will crave from there if any!
