Pretty much a household name already for their delicious Soon Kueh with thin-to-the-point-of-translucence skin and generous fillings in varied flavours, @houseofkuehsg has expanded their offerings with a NEW old dish - Penang Prawn Noodles, which they use to sell but stopped for a spell. They delivered a couple of bowls for me to try this morning and just like that, my heart was stolen.
In a blink of an eye, the noodles transported me back to Penang. Its taste on par with the bowls of #PenangPrawnMee I had inhaled in the town the dish was born.
#HouseOfKuehSg’s silky prawn broth, fiercely saturated in crustacean power, was even more glorious after I added the savoury sambal. One thing to note - it’s vital to bring the broth to a boil before adding it to the rest of the ingredients. Speaking of which, there’s plenty as the serving size is hearty. Besides the big heap of yellow mee and thin beehoon, there are three large and fresh prawns, a few pieces of boiled pork, slices of fish cake, half a hard-boiled egg, kangkong and fried shallots. People with small appetites, you’ve been warned.
