This is their homemade traditional secret recipe and they are really tasty! $6.50 for dessert is a decent pricing actually. This place deserve a shout-out for cafe lovers and hoppers!
A bowlful of crunchy cinnamon toast, colors of froot loops and fresh fruits toppings such as strawberries, bananas and passionfruit. Decided to go with milk instead of yogurt, and felt really great eating clean last night.
At The Cereal Pantry, there are more than 20 cereals and toppings to choose from; possibly the first of a kind, cereal bar in Singapore, that puts your creativity to the test! Was so tempted and took away a pail of Nutri Grain and Special K Advantage cereals, for breakfast, which I'm having right now.
Had this some time way back before I joined Burrple and yes it etched a lasting memory on me! I only remembered it was cheese overload and the steak fries were thick enough to justify the generous amount of cheese Spuds & Aprons weren't stingy on. There were three types of cheese (can't remember what they were) but boy were they finger licking good as starters!
Everyone flocks to Two Chefs for their famous Butter Pork Ribs, but you should also order regular favourites like the Salted Egg Prawns and Golden Mushroom Beancurd. If you like cockles, you won't be disappointed with their fresh garlic and chili cockles. Prepare to queue, this is a popular spot for groups of friends, with their reasonable prices and generous portions.
KEK is one of those rare zi char places with friendly and prompt service. Go for the unique Claypot Pig Liver with rich liver sauce for liver lovers, and the Claypot Drunken Prawns in lovely herbal soup. The star dishes here are their Moonlight Horfun with raw egg, and their Salted Egg Crab! There are both outdoor and indoor seating, call ahead for reservations!
This really hip-looking cafe shows no trace of its past; probably the only thing that is obvious was the signboard that is retained from the previous tenant. It takes over an old coffeeshop that had started here ever since the estate was around, which also used to house a rather famed Prawn Noodle stall in here. Other items such as the artwork in the cafe featuring old calendars and a weighing scale in its toilet also gives a nod to the past. Despite so, the menu is rather western, featuring salads, all-day brunch and desserts as well as coffee made using the Throwback blend by Papa Pahelta. Go for the waffles if you are here; the Buttermilk is fragrant at its best even though its not even stated in the menu, and for those interested in savoury waffles they also serve them with Fried Chicken, which is also one of their specialties.
Start with the Pandan Chicken -- tender, fragrant and generous in portion size! The clear tom yam soup is not killer spicy, but terrifically tasty. Order your usual favourites, Joe's does almost anything really well! If you're a fan of Thai Fried Vermicelli, they do a great version. Cool down with their Thai iced tea and the mango sticky rice.
This humble Thai stall in Tiong Bahru market is probably the most value-for-money, with huge portions at only $4 a plate. Owned and run by two friendly Thais, you'll be guaranteed authentic, hearty food. The Pad Thai is full of flavour and generous with the ingredients. Go for your favourites, they have a wide variety to choose from!
