Ban Mian with Fried Chicken. Price of the chicken has gone up, but we (colleagues and I) still don't mind coughing up $4 for a portion to share.

Tucked in while waiting for my photography crew to arrive last week. Wasn't expecting it to be as power as it was!
Comes with a choice of either Vietnamese Broken Rice or a Kimchi Brown Rice variant; chose the former. Commonly seen as peasant's food, Broken Rice also comes with a couscous-like texture, which absorbs the flavour of its ingredients easily. The Broken Rice had a light coconut flavour to it, and the fried pork cutlet seemed to have a prawn marinade that seemed equally light but flavourful to the pork strips. Pickled vegetables added a sweet-sour crunch which was juicy and refreshing, and there was also a tamago-like omelette as well. Priced at $9.90, serving was generous as I was unable to finish it.
