Crispy breaded turkey bacon strips with a smattering of tobiko and mayo on paper-thin egg crepe-wrapped sushi rice. Sounded good on paper, but wasn't that great in reality.
For truffle fans out there, this is a version of tonkatsu that might interest you. The breaded and deepfried juicy pork loin gets a spray of truffle oil when it is delivered to the table. Then to really layer on the truffle aroma and flavour, a saucer of truffle salt is presented for dipping. I have to say, this was something quite new to me and it tasted delicious!
Special garlic and vegetables ramen from Miyamoto at Ramen Champion. A huge bowl of thick Japanese noodles in garlicky tonkotsu broth with wholesome roasted charsiew and pork belly cubes. The vegetables and pork belly were overly generous, but I'm not complaining at all.
