It's shaped to look like a mushroom but it's actually just mushroom bun. So yeah normal bao texture, with mushrooms/ veg inside. Tastes pretty normal. #burpple
Salted egg anything must be good, right? RIGHT. These dainty petit fours have a grainy salty-sweet filling neatly jammed between chewy shells – so addictive!
Potatoes sliced ultra-finely with a mandolin to resemble hay, then confit and mixed with boiled bacalhau (Portuguese salt cod), caramelised onions, and egg.
Doesn't look the most tantalising here, but if you're a carb-lover like me, you will ADORE this. I had three portions and would have happily helped myself to more if the chef hadn't distracted me with other yummy dishes. Can't wait for media tastings to start!
not the usual kind of churros (the jar contains salted caramel bananas, fresh mangoes & coconut infused mascarpone sabayon)!!
Platypus Lobster Shack serves 8 flavours of Boston lobster rolls.... was totally spoiled for choice! Was disappointed to hear how they were full house, luckily there was the take away option! Chose The Modern flavour as there were hollandaise sauce and also cheese mixed with bouncy lobster meat between two well toasted bun! A good yummy treat for $19.90!
There are around 11 toppings to choose from. I had the matcha and azuki with Hokkaido vanilla ice cream (hidden on the other side), filling is azuki as it is the recommended one among the 4. The other 3 fillings includes matcha, chocolate and custard. A perfect Japanese sweet treat :)
When it comes to cooking prawns, simplicity rules. Prepared a la minute, this Thai-Teochew’s take on the timeless Chinese classic retains the savoury taste and crunchiness of the macadamia nuts.
The fresh sea prawns rattle in the TAO’s iron wok as chef Lee skillfully tossed it with whole macadamia nuts, celery, and bell peppers.
Though it is a less well-known dish from the said cuisine, the likes of the sizzling crispy prawns, vegetables to the addictive nuts is big on nothing but flavour and freshness.
