Malaysia: Langkawi 🇲🇾
From bottom left: Ayam Nasi Kandar (RM3), Kambing (RM10), Kelopok (RM2), Yong Tau Foo (RM8.60), Pulut Durian (RM5), & Putu Bambu (RM1). The vendors here were mostly the same people from yesterday. (The YTF folks recognised us haha.) Food-wise, I highly recommend the Kambing. No musky meat smell at all. YTF was better today because they didn't forget our kangkung this time.
RM1 each. Our reward for walking 3km to the night market.
Lunch after kayaking. They serve decent food yay! There are 3 options of fried rice & soup (prawn/ chicken/ veg) included in our mangrove tour package with Dev's Adventure. I chose the prawn fried rice & spicy veggy soup. They also serve fruits after meal.
Chicken/ beef satay at RM0.50 each. Cube rice at RM1. Asked these nice satay ladies to give me extra onion & cucumber & they did. Also glad that I know some melayu since they didn't speak english. The satay sauce wasn't our familiar peanut sauce. Closer to the ramly burger sauce imo.
Took the cab to the somewhat ulu night market at Kedawang last night & unleashed our inner glutton so we didn't take much photo there. Basically we ate as we bought stuff like kings & even bought supper: (from top left clockwise) Yong tau foo (RM6.70 depending on the ingredients), koay teow (RM2), & pulut mangga (RM5). The ytf came with chee cheong fun & the sauce (with chili & peanut powder) is not too sweet or spicy. If anyone knows where I can have this in Singapore, please lmk! 🙏The koay teow was so-so imo but S liked it. There was no disagreement about the pulut mangga though because WHO DISLIKES MANGO?! Tip: avoid rice & noodles so you can eat more! The night market operates from 1900 to 2200 at different location every night. The one at Kuah on Wednesday & Sunday night is apparently the largest so I'm planning on going again tonight!
RM1 for 3. There're pineapple & red bean dorayaki too but coconut milk is 😍. Had this for breakfast but I would say it's better when it's hot.
