Old-school chicken pie tucked in Sunshine Plaza, baked. fresh. daily. I've witnessed the middle-aged chef laminating pastry and granny peeling potatoes by the piece in their cozy little joint. Fat chunks of chicken laced in peppery mashed and smashed potato filling encased between 2 sheets of their housemade puff pastry. Best snack anytime of the day!

I'm pretty big on well made pies and Starbucks does a real hearty version of beef tomato pie, even though it's pre-made. Don't forget to tell them to make it extra toasty for you so that it warms even the ingredients inside and make your cheese extra gooey! 🧀

The pie shell encasing the piping hot filling was crusty at the edges, base and sides not too thick nor doughy. When sliced open, out oozed the stringy cheese and tender chunks of beef. Well seasoned, and probably an entire pie (and a cuppa) would suffice for lunch.

This was probably microwaved instead of reheated in the oven, but damn, for the amount of satisfaction it provided me, I'm willing to overlook that.
