Don’t be fooled by the surface — everything’s tucked under that gloriously rich and thick nutty sauce. And yes, it’s so addictive. Dig a little deeper and you’ll uncover a treasure trove of goodness including cockles, crunchy cuttlefish, sliced pork, tau pok [a.k.a. fried beancurd puffs], kangkong, bee hoon [a.k.a. rice vermicelli] (sans beansprouts!) and the star for me? Delighted to uncover a gem at Redhill food centre today — this char kway teow is served wet with that unmistakable wok hei [a.k.a. smoky aroma] we all crave and everything just right in place: sea hum [a.k.a. cockles], Chinese sausage, fish cake, bean sprouts and yes…… those sinfully, crispy bits of fried pork lard. Tried the two most recommended 👍🏻 dishes from this beloved stall at Beauty World Food Centre — the soya sauce chicken and the comforting dumpling + wanton soup.
The chicken drumstick is meaty and tender with silky, well-marinated skin. And those dumplings and wantons are loaded with juicy prawns and seasoned minced meat — every bite is so hearty and satisfying. 😋

Just look 👀 at this resplendent mountain of shaved ice, crowned with golden canned peaches 🍑 in syrup and a zesty calamansi lime 🍋‍🟩. Sweet, tangy, icy perfection and an instant relief [& joy] from the sweltering heat!
