This restaurant is by the same people behind Saute in Bugis, which I have yet to try. Food options in City Square Mall are quite unimpressive, so I was glad to come across this place. And it’s vegetarian too!

I ordered the Minced Shroom Pumpkin Tomato pasta ($10.90) which comes with assorted mushrooms and pumpkin seeds, in a tomato sauce. I was expecting there to be pumpkin pieces but there weren’t any :( The spaghetti was a tad overcooked but overall it was still an enjoyable dish.

The menu is very extensive. In addition to the different pasta there are also options like donburis, ramen, pizza, burgers, steamboat etc. I would be interested to try the donburis and cream-based pastas if I’m in the area again.

I come here on a regular basis now because I love it so much. Tried the Mee Siam ($9.90) today and it blew me away! It was a huge bowl, with very tasty gravy, topped with crispy tai pok, mock fish balls and fish cakes.

Take note that this dish is only available on Wednesdays!

I’ve come to Fill a Pita a few times for my Middle Eastern vegetarian fix. This time I got the Eggplant Pita Sandwich ($11) which was great - the eggplant and salad mix inside was really nicely seasoned. Definitely drop by if you’re looking for something fulfilling yet healthy!

If you ever find yourself in the Kaki Bukit industrial area, you’ll be surprised to know that there’s a vegetarian restaurant there!

This is the Ipoh hor fun which comes at the special price of $4.50 during lunch hours. I added egg for 50 cents. The warm soymilk ($2.60) was comforting and I was glad that it came without any sugar.

There are lots of local dishes including nasi lemak which I was also tempted to try. Maybe next time?

Korean food can be a tough one for vegetarians, what with the BBQ, bulgogi etc. Thankfully there’s Boneless Kitchen, a Korean vegetarian restaurant, where you can be assured that everything is meatless (you can never be 100% sure in regular Korean restaurants)!

I ordered the Soondubu Jjigae ($12.90) which contained soft tofu, egg tofu, egg, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, kimchi and fishcake. It came out piping hot and was quite spicy, but delicious. Almost thought the fishcake was real fishcake! The dish was accompanied by purple rice and a side of pickled cucumbers.

This is a great place for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians for meatless Korean food that tastes just like the real thing!

I think this is my favourite vegan restaurant in Singapore now. Everything I’ve had here is awesome.

This time I decided to try the Teochew mee pok ($9.90) which didn’t disappoint. The perfectly cooked mee pok came with a yummy mushroom-based topping, “fishcakes” and “fishballs”. The portion is much bigger than you would get in a Hawker centre. I also highly recommend their warm soymilk.

It can be tough to find a place to go to with non-vegans/vegetarians but Loving Hut is the perfect solution to that. They offer vegan renditions of local dishes (laksa, char kway teow etc), Chinese food, Western food and more!

I’m not vegan or vegetarian, but from time to time I try to cut down on meat. I love veggie burgers because they’re much more fun to eat than salads, and you almost forget you’re only eating veggies.

grEAT opened quite recently at the basement of Tanjong Pagar Centre, but doesn’t draw crowds like Daily Cut and the other eateries nearby. I wonder why, because the Signature Smoky Burger ($7.90 a la carte, $9.90 as a combo with a drink) was delicious, with a crispy mushroom patty and a slightly tangy sauce.

I’d say this is on par with VeganBurg (one of my favourites) and better than nomVnom.

Sometimes the best food in a restaurant isn’t necessarily the most instagrammable dish :)
