This jian bing from Wulumuqi Lu makes for an amazing breakfast!! It usually consists of a freshly made crepe wrapped around egg, a choice between crispy wanton skin or youtiao, and other ingredients of your choice like sausage and meat. It is topped off with cilantro, hoisin and chilli sauce and makes for a very fulfilling breakfast! Definitely a must have in Shanghai.
The xiaolongbao from Jia Jia Tang Bao in Shanghai is freshly steamed and served to you immediately. The skin is not too thick, while the broth has a strong crab flavour. You would want to have one whole ‘long’ (basket) to yourself!
