Had the fried steak, unagi and hamburg steak and the food honestly so so. The service by the boss was good though and the boss was really friendly. However, I guess theyāre newly opened and hence they are still trying to sort things out!
Infused with the flavour of carrot cake, this crispy tofu tasted so much like a finer version of cai tao kueh š it has a super unique texture too. Yum!
Had truffle chawanmushi with a vanishing unicorn which was highly raved by everyone on social/burpple! :-) It did not disappoint. Had this unagi fried rice as well which was quite delicious. But the star of the day was the seafood Wok Hey Porridge that the boy got. Thumbs up for Uncle Kiisu in terms of novelty and quality! šš»

Salivating at this photo now cos it was dat good. They used original wasabi grounded root as well, instead of artificial ones normally served.
Gotta try the unagi maki too! ($25+), the combination was bomb and filling enough for 2 pax. Made even better through Burpple Beyond!
Came here on a Friday night and it was very crowded. Had the large bowl. The beef was done really well but I felt that the taste was pretty one dimensional. The bowl tasted like beef, truffle, egg and rice basically so if those looking for Japanese restaurant quality dishes should look somewhere else. I guess for $14 it was really worth it (we used burpple beyond) but I wouldnāt pay anymore than that.
Had a Bara Chirashi Don ($13) and a Chirashi Don ($13). Very very worth for the price. Sashimi was fresh and tasted great.
Had minced toro topped with rice, it was very well-seasoned and every mouthful tasted delicious. The toro came in generous servings as well! Havenāt visited Sushi Tei in a long time but I still had an awesome Japanese fare just like the olā days. :-)
The spiciness was the kind that youād choke on if youāre not careful. Thats what happened. Donāt think its flavourful enough and the spiciness was derived from chilli powder instead of infused well in the soup. Thumbs down.
