First Visit, YES! Second visit, meh... First visit was rather pleasant. Visited on a Fri, and terms stated to order by 7pm. Was "pressured" by the staff to order "asap". Food was pretty good. No restrictions to choices. It was a nice cozy spot! My friends and I all enjoyed the food and ambience. Ordered Salmon Pesto pasta, Signature Mondomio pasta, Romana pizza (shown in pic). Second visit on a Tuesday dinner, informed the staff i would like to use burpple. Immediately told me "no risotto, no seafood" - this was NOT stated on the t&cs in burpple. Was really looking forward to letting my friend try the salmon pesto (highly recommend if you like pesto), but fish is seafood too. Quite disappointed for the "double standards" even though food is quite nice. Pls check with shop on what is available to order prior to visit since they're not clear with their t&cs or they changed it without any updates.

Good food but poor service… Food and price were actually sooo good! Loved the tagliatelle the sauce soooo delish but felt that the manager’s attitude changed completely when she heard we were using burpple… like she didn’t even look at us when talking to us compared to the friendliness showed when sitting us down 🥲

Decent food The food was good, didn’t have to wait too long for the food. Quite crowded during dinner time. Ordered the Nasi Campur (beef redang, sayur lodeh, sambal goreng) and Singkong Santan (tapioca leaves in coconut gravy) and the satay. All was tasty esp singkong which it not easily available.

🐄 🐓 Satay Served in half-dozen, with choice to select different combinations of flavours. Featured here's 3 chicken and 3 beef. While $9.90++ for 6 may appear a tad too expensive, you're definitely getting your money's worth with larger portions of skewered meat - approx 20% larger than the regular satay sizes from hawker centre? Served with a side of sliced cucumbers and mandatory peanut gravy (you can ask for more!)

garlic mayo broccoli generous parmesan cheese but not much garlic mayo taste was expecting the texture and bite to be similar to roasted cauliflower but it's not

Excellent tandoori dishes Had our Diwali/Deepavali lunch here. The best thing about this place is the service - friendly and efficient. The tandoris are quite good, the curries and cooked dishes very meh. There are many better and better-value Indian restaurants around.

Salted Caramel Macadamia Log Cake You will be spoilt for choice with their 3 flavours of log cakes! 🎂 Be it their Salted Caramel Macadamia Log Cake ($78, approx 1kg) 🤎, Pistachio Raspberry Log Cake ($95, approx 900g) 💚💗, or their gluten-free & nut-free Flourless Chocolate Log Cake ($68, approx 800g) 🍫, they will certainly be great for sharing with loved ones! 😋

Panettone Do not miss their Panettone - the best I've had! Made in Italy 🇮🇹 & imported here, their buttery sweet bread is so fluffy! 🤤 Comes in 3 flavours - Classico ($68) with candied orange peel 🍊 & raisins, Cioccolato ($72) with chocolate chips 🍫, Prosecco ($72) with Prosecco D.O.C.G. cream ☁️!

Christmas cookies Munch on their 🆕️ Christmas inspired cookies ($38/tin) which comes in 3 flavours - Cocoa Almond Biscotti, Italian Pistachio Cookie & Christmas Fruit Crunchies 🍪! Given the harder texture of biscotti, the former pairs really well with hot tea/coffee! I love their pistachio cookie the best - super nutty! 💚 The cornflake & dried fruits in the Christmas Fruit Crunchies made it so addictive!

Food Capital Last night, we embarked on another buffet journey at @foodcapital.gcw Food Capital, the buffet restaurant located within the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The international buffet spread was truly impressive, offering a diverse range of dishes to satisfy every palate. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were captivated by the stunning array of culinary delights. The seafood section was particularly enticing, featuring fresh oysters shucked to order and succulent snow crab legs. We were also intrigued by the giant grouper fish on display, which was used to prepare both a hearty fish soup and a crispy charcoal-fried fish. Beyond the seafood, the buffet offered a wide variety of international dishes, including succulent roasted meats, flavorful curries, and delicate sushi. The sashimi selection, while not the most extensive, was still quite satisfying, with fresh and well-presented fish. To conclude our culinary adventure, we indulged in a decadent dessert spread featuring a variety of cakes, pastries, and ice creams. It was the perfect way to end a truly satisfying dining experience.

CHRISTMAS SPECIALS AT WOLFGANG’S STEAKHOUSE This Christmas, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is serving their Christmas specials for two, starting with an appetiser of either the Waldorf salad or cream of cauliflower before a choice of entree which we chose the USDA roasted prime rib served with beef jus and cream horseradish. The main highlight of the meal was beefy and nicely seasoned which is served bone-in and you can gnaw the meat off the bone which has the most flavours. Accompanying sides include sliced honey baked turkey ham that is juicy and tender, baked sweet potato, sautéed wild mushroom that has an umami touch and sautéed haricot verts. End the meal with a dessert of ube tiramisu.

Juicy Portahouse steak Went to Wolfgang's steakhouse with a few of my colleagues. Ordered a portahouse steak for the mains. This is the portahouse for 3 and it's enough to feed 4 people. It comes with the sirloin portions at the sides and the fillet mignon portions in the middle. The fillet mignon parts are better than the sirloin parts. We had it medium rare and it was perfect. The service staff was particularly helping in recommending that the portahouse for 3 was indeed the best value because it comes with a better ratio of fillet to sirloin, and informing us that it is enough to feed 4 people.

Coconut Milk Pancakes And no meal is complete without dessert, the warm Coconut Milk Pancakes were pleasantly perfumed. Not the fuwa fuwa type but decently pillowy and soft with a good amount of moisture locked in. Crowned with fresh sweet mixed berries, cream cheese and drizzles of maple syrup, it was a more than satisfying treat that is perfect for sharing.

Nasi Goreng Iga Hitam We can’t leave without having one of their rice dishes and got the Nasi Goreng Iga Hitam. Packing a flavourful punch, the squid ink fried rice was nicely seasoned with spice and held a lingering umami, seafood-y kick together with a smokey kiss from the wok. So shiok but a tad too much heat for me as it does build up. The 6-hour braised beef ribs were great, not too gamey and sufficiently tender. The main also came with sambal, prawn cracker and a sunny side up. (Psst it is on Burpple 1-for-1 at selected outlets!)

Traditional Lohei Lohei season comes and goes way too quickly! More than just their speciality blends, Tanamera Coffee also delivers a solid Traditional Lohei (starting from $45.80) for the festive period (with pre-orders available on their website). Crunchy fresh shredded vegetables, savoury smoked salmon slices, sweet mandarin orange wedges, crispy golden crackers and well-balanced plum sauce all prepared in-house. One of the better CNY prosperity toss salads I had as I prefer their lighter-tasting condiments and a generous amount of salmon. Thanks @burpple for the invite and @tanameracoffeesg for feeding us~ Will need to be back for that bomb peanut sauce (they blend it with cashew, ingenious)!

Loved the food and drinks here! The Werkx Cafe boasts multiple activities such as leathercraft, candle making, pottery and more! They also sell some small bites as well as coffee which we were glad to try! We ordered a couple of sweet and savoury options, such as their all famous muffins, sourdough toasts and pastries, as well as coffee drinks. Here are some of our favourites: 1️⃣ Garlic Croissant ($5.30) - the crunch in their croissant is insane! It was really flaky and buttery. The garlic spread comes with garlic chunks that gave so much flavour and umami! 2️⃣ Chocolate Muffin ($6.80) - we were very surprised to find melted chocolate within the muffin, which gave extra richness! It was incredibly chocolatey and I love the top crust of the muffin as it was crispy. 3️⃣ Iced Mocha ($8.50) - I was afraid that I was too sweet, but I'm glad that it wasn't! The aroma of the coffee did complement the chocolate well and it was definitely a smooth cup. There were also some board games for you to play while you dine here! A cafe to consider in the region. Art cafe Chill art cafe - @thewerkx ! Situated in River Valley, this art cafe offers a wide variety of creative activities such as candle making, pottery, leather craft, and many more! You can also visit this place just for the food! We got the chunky chicken croissant and sourdough toast, which comes with creamy mashed potato. Very delicious! We also got an iced taro latte and tropical iced tea (mango and peach) for the hot weather! Slice To Meat You @peperonipizzeria is probably my go to pizza place right now. Their pizza crusts are simply stellar, and their toppings are topnotch. Better yet, they’re actually amazingly affordable too. Don’t believe me? Well, the prosecution would like to present the evidence here.⠀ ⠀ This, your honour, is a twelve inch half & half ‘Speciale’ pizza that’s priced at $30++. That’s right, it’s a premium pizza, and the Burrata & Prosciutto toppings share the perfect pizza crust that’s lovingly slathered with tangy tomato sauce with the Carne option. The Carne, as you may have guessed, is Peperoni’s twist on the timeless meat lovers’ pizza, and the Carne has pork meatballs, bacon & pepperoni on top of a luscious layer of melted mozzarella cheese. Marvellous meat, magnificent mozzarella, and titillating tomato sauce on top of a tremendous thin crust pie is always a flawless win, and Peperoni comes through with the gargantuan W.⠀ ⠀ As for the burrata & prosciutto...dude, do I really need to elucidate this any further? The same sublime sauce & melted mozza base now houses confit tomatoes, a generous helping of salty, piquant Parma ham, and colossal chunks of beautiful burrata. It’s creamy, cheesy, tangy, salty, and utterly umami, and that crisp dough base is the cherry on (or below in this case) the cake.⠀ ⠀ None y’all gonna get a pizza this. I ain’t sharing, these peerless pies are way too transcendent to be shared. Get your own & leave me alone.⠀

Fried Calamari Nicely deep-fried Calamari coated with a light crisp and airy batter. A good squeeze of lemon offsets the greasiness.

Large Pizza - 28sgd Half frutti di mare and half quattro formaggi on a thin thin crust. Seafood part had quite a fair bit of clams and squid, and the outer side is simple cheesy goodness. I do miss their salmon pizza that had been dropped off the menu.
