Decadent dark chocolate with expresso poured over for an indulgent dessert

Started dinner with a small plate of cauliflower done three ways .. fried, pickled and pureed. Added oomph came in the form of pomegranate, pistachios and a ricotta base which complemented the cauliflower perfectly
Great start leading up to dinner

Went for dessert post Autobus 1-1 protein lunch bowls which were very delicious (not featured cos too famished forgot to pic).
Foret Noir featured kirsch cherries with a dark chocolate ganache and the mont blancs chestnut puree had a generous dose of rum which made us excitedly finishing it with fast deft strokes. Notwithstanding the haze , brunch was a real breath of fresh air😜

‘Twas a hot day and after brunch at old hen we crossed the road to cool down with some icy bingsu. Whilst the ice was really snow like the bingsu’s paucity of injeolmi powder and solid frozen rice cakes made it a fail for me. Hubbys 1-1 avocado gado bingsu fared better with avo cream, gula melaka and coconut ice cream atop.. that saved the day
Service was great and its my principal that if I’ve nothing good to say about all else, dont say it

Machiato and Matcha Latte at Old Hen. They source their matcha powder from Kyoto and IMHO is one of the best matcha lattes in Singapore
Service was great and ambience chilled

Crispy duck confit with peruvian coriander and corn cider in dark beer $38
Tono pride themselves in serving a totally Peruvian menu and specialises in ceviches..however I much prefer their cooked dishes and the duck confit was done very well with the skin oh so crispy and the leg sitting on a bed of coriander puree. Its a little pricey but with the beyond deal we also had the barrumundi and that wasn’t too shabby at $38 for two mains
Do Not miss their tres leches cake for dessert a great coconut cake drenched in flavourful milk that will end your meal on a sweet note

Cheeky, located at the now defunct Botanist along Neil Road serves dishes that are twisted in a good way. We shared the smashed avo on sourdough and their coconut kaya pancakes. The avocado had a yuzu mayo taste to it which i found to be a tad OTT as both combined gave too rich a fatty taste for my liking. My husband liked it though no complaints from that department so i guess it’ll appeal to some and not others. The pancakes need no discussion here.. they were marvellous and the twist to that was the kaya was reduced to a thick fudgy goodness.. tops this!
Added to sweeten the experience, 1-1 Beyond of course😜

Seafood pasta with wok hei fresh tart prawns and added kickass sedap sambal served in a cosy friendly bistro made our Saturday night. And added value was the ubiquitous 1-1 Beyond deal which saw my husband enjoying the equally delicious honey charred chicken. 2 dishes for $19++! That’s a real deal thete😜

$7.50 ..really worth it acai regular sized cup.. size is more like the large serving of an açai affair but half the price. Here the acai has a softserve almost fudge like texture which appeals to those who dont like theirs icy
Overall a winner!

Dinner at Kafe Utu with goat curry, swahili fish and peanut chicken curry. Delicious but if spicy is not your thing best order the sunset cauliflower and wash it down with their cold brew.. Utu ink.. thats served with ice cubed coffee and a slice of tangerine
Must try dessert dishes are halwa and their oh so moist carrot cake
Their secret drink that blew me away was their matcha latte from ippudo, coutersy of the owners Kurt wife who hails from Japan

Nut oh-so-delicious butter acai bowl from Haakon $12.90 Of all the acai offerings this is the best IMHO. Here they take cate to roast their nuts and granola, the nut butter is generously spread throughput and theres the bottom bit of chia seeds to offset getting jelat of acai. The only downside is that sometimes the chia seeds are clumped together like its just been out of the fridge and not left long enough to thaw
Compared to the other nut bowls where some just give a boring tasteless mix of raw seeds Haakons bowl always makes me enjoy every mouthful. The acai may be a little sweet and icy for some but thats how i like it, not the soury fudgy type.

Healthy eating at a beautiful cafe today.. a plateful of goodness to start the weekend right.
Fresh spinach, kale, cranberries and nuts tossed lightly in olive oil.
I guess this gives me a license to indulge in a little cake this weekend 😊
