Sure, find those 3 large bulbous wantons stuffed with 2 shrimps each.

Sure, find the whole oozy melty ajitama. Perhaps one of the softest forms for soft boiled ajitama (kudos on this; its really not easy to peel the softer it is)

Sure, find the crispy savoury potato prawn. It tastes so much like that childhood packet of Roller Coaster potato chips šŸ˜

Sure, just look at that atas looking dried chili threads. Fooling you for saffron for that second.

There are even bitty bits of konbu blacks speckled all over.

And the briny scent of seafood in the chili PUNCHES you. No doubt.

With perfectly al-dente noodles.

But it’s the sous vide char siu that dare I say, has the ability to win your heart. It melts. It M E L T S. That is just incredible. The meats holds its structural integrity well but lovingly gives way upon reaching your tongue.

Flavours don’t particularly gel or stand out well together. The sum of its (beautiful) parts didn’t elevate the whole to a greater.
But every ingredient just screams EFFORT.

And that’s why, A for Effort. Super well deserving of its accolade. 8/10

Thankful I got to try! For its ultra limited time frame of opening šŸ˜‹

$9 for small (2wantons, 2 char siu)
$11 for medium ( 3 wantons, 3 char siu)
$15 for special (medium + 1 side dish)

Gone are the days of $7. Burpple should really change it up here.

I must say, the side of soup is pleasantly tasty.

Peppery meat broth. Truly reminiscent of BKT šŸ‘šŸ» 7/10 for the surprisingly tasty soup side

Weeelll. So are these clumps egg or overbrewed coconut milk. I thought it was the latter but all these other reviews are mentioning it’s egg?

I’ve never had a more oily and cloying laksa that ALSO wasn’t all that Lemak in the gravy. :(

The spice and aromatics just weren’t shining in the broth. Even with the chili, the spice, and haebee was not coming through

3 for the nice toppings at all.

May I disrecommend the Yuzu sauce. If there’s such a word? Haha

It was really more a jam; really sweet and artificial tasting when I had high hopes for Yuzu-anything šŸ˜šŸ˜

Tasted icky on paired with anything.

That said, the chicken is truly consistently good šŸ˜‹ thank God they allowed me get a serving of soy garlic; which is a much better gel for the rice bowl šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

This dressing is: 2/10

Also in case you are wondering why I’m back? Well, it’s part of social obligation paid for group sorta friendships. Haha.

Pardon the neon!

It was only after coming to the shop that I realised hey, I’ve been here before and what do I rmb of this shop? Nothing much. Cos the noodles were really average.

Sure it doesn’t go soft too much and are pretty springy but the sauce wasn’t particularly fragrant.

醋! Is an important element in BCM. But this one tasted flatly just. Sour. And had no resonance after the first clang.

My bowl of Mushrooms were pretty salty and painfully sour having absorbed the vinegar.
I mean. I only found 1 pork lard. So there’s really not much I could find to comfort my appetite either.

6.5/10.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s a decent bowl. But not great.

Eggy, dough panfried to fluffiness you’ll enjoy 😊

And just check out the size of that oyster.

I didn’t take a pic of the wings cos it was few and I had no expectations for it. But it was juicy and flavourful. Paired with a refreshing lime//garlic//chili dip šŸ˜‹ get that for sure!

It’s the same stall

Hahah where was the Chili? We got this in a flurry so our foreign guest could enjoy a sumptuous dinner but I realised in my easygoingness, I succumbed to settling for the absence of the Chili that the orderer left out :( oh wells

You won’t miss this stall! Its the source of carbon monoxide crackling from the charcoal stove ā˜ŗļø

I loved the charcoal flame-kissed aroma smudged all over the noodles but am sincerely wondering where the zhup went to.

I’m pretty sure the original at lor 29 had that going (since it’s but a stone’s throw away)

But the aroma is definitely more prominent here than at the original. Maybe it has something to do with the lack of zhup to soothe that smell out?? šŸ¤”

From top to bottom: beef, pork, mutton, chicken.

I must say. Pricy as it is, I’m pleased that the meats weren’t dried out and the seasoning was distinct and flavourful— gingers, slight heats.

The chicken was the most juicy out of the lot. Something bout thighs that don’t dry out too easily. Yet all these satays were of a high meat ratio. Compared to most satays I’ve had. No jelak lumps of fat! šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»

Peanut sauce can do better. It wasn’t fragrant. And. I’m pretty sure I did taste a slight odour from the ketupat. So. Just beware! :)

It was a dollar cheaper than the Boon Tat Seafood’s stingray.

The sambal wasn’t all that memorable but I enjoyed that the meat was still so soft and supple. Not dried up by the grill.

It’s duck-based broth. Unique to Tsuta Singapore. I gave it a try; apprehensive for a first time duck ramen taste test.

Fears were proven by the poopy, gamey whiff of Duck each bite screams of.

It’s difficult to pinpoint but I feel like duck if handled roughly, can smell like its waste produce šŸ™ˆ perhaps the fat in it or intestinal waste gives off such a smell. Through the bowl, I started thanking the sweet sharp raw onions that helped to refresh that odour.

Broth aside, ajitama was yummy, duck meat itself was mostly flavourless and lightly sweet.
Wanton was aaallright. Peppery and insignificantly forgettable. Noodles easily went limp too.

Michelin-starred places SOMETIMES just makes missing the mark one tad too regretful.

Kudos to the warm and attentive service staff nonetheless :)

Have you had Italian Grounds before? Couldn’t quite find Dorilas in Italy on good ole Google but I was excited to find out the type of flavour profile Italy beans provided! (Had authentic Italian espresso when my tastebuds were untrained.)

But (this) Italian Coffee is exactly how I would imagine it to be. It tastes like.. FOUNDATION.
Not the makeup kinds! I’m talking about hearty robust, earthy. It’s like the LEAD in concrete foundations. Without any embellishments

Solid, Smooth, Single, Strong, plain earthy flavour. Like Pear and Pecans! Without a bitter or oily aroma.

Could get a little Flat after a while without much acidity/fruity or floral tones and short finish. But overall very SAFE a choice of coffee. Easily pleasing the conservative or simply-Caffeine-seeking drinker. Even the picky cant quite complain or nitpick this style.

I’ve got to admit. Finding out that the house blend is 70% Ethiopian seeded some apprehension. Having had a couple of tasting sessions go not-great.

The acidity of Ethiopian beans have thrown me off altogether. In particular, I am beginning to conclude that these beans have a very thin optimum roasting frame; resulting in many coffeehouses overroasting these acidic overly flavoured beans. The bitter comes out very easily too, is what I’m saying.

Sniffing this cuppa, the skeptic in me at once went ā€œuuuhhh yesā€ this is gonna be one sour coffee. The crema gave it all away too.

OR SO I thought.

I was slowly greeted by wafts of berry, pink grapefruit, nutty scents. IN LAYERS. Just the way I like a. Good Cuppa. Complex, full bodied. It got pretty exciting to drink after the first 30seconds when my palate acclimated to the tang.

With the cream, or the remaining 30% + not overly extracted Ethiopian Grounds.

I enjoyed it as an overall. šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ». With its long finish
