Ajummas at The Cathay has just recently revamped their menu and will be introducing several new items from this weekend.
The Jjampong is a rich broth with a sweet nutty flavour and packs a spicy punch, boasting a seafood spread of crab, prawns and mussels. Kimchi lovers will be jjamping in glee at the sight of this.
The Jjajangmyeon consist of chunks of pork cloaked in black bean paste mixed with springy noodles.
The Beef Kalbi is one of the new signature dishes, luscious beef marinated in a special housemade sauce and caramelised under intense heat for a deep smoky aroma, you can request for Mozzarella cheese to be torched atop it for more oomph

A new bistro serving gourmet delicacies has opened @tadabistro

Located within walking distance from Bras Basah station, Ta-Da Bistro serves premium dishes at affordable prices and is helmed by Mr Ta Da who is trained in France and hails from the kitchen of @joel.robuchon.
Start with the crispy and addictive Prawn Twister, marinated prawn wrapped in pastry skin and Basilico Chips, basil infused potato.
The Poke You, one of the highlights of the meal, has ingredients such as Pineapple, Ebiko, Corn, Arugula, Pumpkin Seeds and Salmon Cubes doused in truffle oil with a brown rice base.
The truffle was truly aromatic and enticing and the appetising blend of flavours makes it stand out from the rest of the dishes
There is the perfectly named Poke Mee which uses pasta as the base instead.
Another main that we had is the Corn Fed Chicken which is paired with spiced poached tomato, salad and chicken jus.

A new exciting concept under No Fixed Cuisine, you can look forward to set lunches, ala carte items, omakase menu and bar bites to go a fine selection of sake.
There are 8 courses to our omakase and we began with the Amuse Bouche, teriyaki chicken flavour infused in Japanese rice paper. The is followed by the Cold Dish which is the aromatic Salmon Carpaccio with homemade ponzu and truffle oil. The Hot Item is the smooth, silly Foie Gras Chawanmushi topped with a layer of Mapo sauce adding that tinge of spicyness to the dish. The Hot Dish is a Japanese rendition of the local curry puff, Japanese curry tuna fried within a light batter
