The fillings are emperor veg (which is super crunchy and on the stiff side), crispy vegetarian floss, and healthy rice. All these fillings are wrapped in seaweed sheet. You can skip this type of rice roll if not a fan of pickled style vegetables. ๐ฌ
I went to try this new dish from Greendot in the pm. Not super crowded in this outlet. In the menu it says that this dish contains milk and I notice the chef walking past by with Carnation milk. ๐จโ๐ณ I can hardly taste milk in this dish, however. The ingredients are packed with 2 crispy wanton, 3 konnyaku prawns, beansprouts, lettuce, cabbage. The highlights are 2 cruspy beancurd skin which I enjoy the most (not the same for konnyaku prawn ๐ ). The set presentation is nice with chilli dipping. Flavorwise, honestly I still prefer other noodle dishes they have compared to this one. ๐ค
Crave for assam laksa and pop to Malaysja Boleh! to have my fix. The dish is packed with ingredients (enjoy sardines and sliced pineapple mixed with crunchy onion). The broth is tangy, thick and flavorful. Finish the whole bowl without question. Now this doesnt disappoint me compared to CKT last time! ๐
The first time I tried their noodle was back in Timbre+, and was always the regular customer since.๐คค Happy to see them opening the stall in bugis junction L1. There are enough seats despite lunch crowd. I ordered the premium fishball noodle that comes with 4 different types of fishballs within the soup and the fish cake. The highlights are crispy fishskin that are sprinkled generously within the bowl. They have crispy pork lard & chilli counter in this outlet where you can help yourself if not enough crispy pork lard in the bowl. The ala carte will set you back at $7.50 (Top up $1.30 and go for the set one with either tea or coffee.) Hope they are keeping quality & price next visit! ๐ #michelinbibgourmand
A famous nasi lemak stall in Adam Road food center est.since 1998. The stall is 1 in top 100 most nominated hawker of SG mint gift your favourite hawker a coin initiative. Enough accolade, let's dive into their nasi lemak. ๐ i just love the fact that they are generous with chilli, the anchovies are crispy and the coconut rice is just on point. The highlight of this set is a plump and smooth otah. The stall owner is very friendly and suggest me going to royal flush set instead. However, I skip chicken strips and opt for this set instead. ๐คฉ
Fomo that I gotta try this relatively new! Vietnamese eatery in town. We know who is number one but this Co Chung gives a run for its money with their "authentic dishes". They've got quite a few Vietnamese dishes I have never tried before but this is my first visit. Let's try something familiar, Bun Thit Nuong (Vermicelli with grilled pork & crispy spring roll) ๐
I can't complain about this dish. The grilled pork js well seasoned and very generous in portion. The sweet fish sauce brings all the elements together. The spring roll is crispy and go well with the grilled pork & vermicelli. Wish there could be more veg (a few slice of carrot & basil leaves are not enough.) The grilled pork could be too tough for some but is ok for me. If any suggestions, it would be nicer if some grilled pork pieces won't be too charred and that they use different box (rather than foam) as a food container. ๐ก๐๐โป๏ธ
Oozy kopi gao pancake has nice fragrance of kopi filling which is not too overpowering the pancake. Perfect pairing with classic soya meal (low sugar 25%).
Not the first time to have this Indonesian dish at Ayam Penyet but the first time trying at Nex outlet. The outlet seems to have a constant flow of patrons. It doesnt take long for takeaway orders. However, the duck thigh comes out not as crispy as I would like. ๐ฌ The crispy toppings helps this dish slightly. I enjoy the garlic & sliced chilli dipping. The tempeh and tauhu are also lukewarm. There is one slice of cucumber & white lettuce. It is alright but not as nice as other outlets. ๐ค
Normally Bengawan Solo is well known for its dessert, it's quite intriquing to find that they also have Nasi Lemak up for sale. Selling at $2.50 per packet, we think It is the most affordable Nasil Lemak in SG. We always love a good nasi lemak whether it is from the premium restaurants or the highstreet hawker stalls. The 3 components we saw in this banana leaf-wrapped style are the essentials: peanuts & anchovies, chilli and fried kuhning fish. ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ Bengawan Solo has done a great job with its sweet & spicy chilli & its crispy anchovi. Rice has good texture although not yet achieving the ideal coconut rice. Crispy anchovies and peanuts are crunchy & bountiful. The fried fish might not be crispy but you got crispy anchovies tagging along. These 3 masketeer ingredients will bring us back to be a regular here.
Not everyone would eat this. It is a sharing plate for 2 but only one of us is willing to try surf clam ๐ With texture like geoduck, you are in treat for a unique texture sushi. It is highly nutritious and bring back our fond memory at tsukuji market.๐ฅฐ
When you ordered the uni-kani-ikura trio set to try, but then you realize that you love uni the most (double up!) The uni is still as fresh as the previous set we ordered.
Just by looking, you could mistake this as beef (by the way, beef sushi does exist but one of us don't eat beef). Rightly that it is a solo piece as the Bluefin tuna itself is a prime & special ingredient. It has darker hue than typical one and also the fattiest.โจ๏ธ๐ฃ
