Here we have:
✅Grapefruit Thyme Strawberry Green Tea
Light and refreshing drink! I liked that it was not too sweet and with a slight bitter aftertaste from the grapefruit! Could not really taste the strawberry though.
⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
✅ Longan Osmanthus Pu-erh
This drink is also on the lighter side. Mildly sweet, herbally taste with bits of osmanthus jelly within.

🔎Overall Verdict
The lunch set was pretty good but I think it is only worth the money with Burpple Beyond 1 for 1. $16++ for a lunch set alone would be on the expensive side for me, given its portion and quality. Portion wise was okay for a girl like me but might not be that filling for those with larger appetites. Service was good and pretty fast too. However, this is not really a place to chill and catchup as the lines are pretty crazy and the shop is quite small with limited seats available. When we left at around 12pm but there was already a sneaking queue outside the shop so be there early if you want to avoid the queue!

Together with each lunch set comes with a side of 4 pcs dumplings. There were 4 of us, 4 lunch sets, 4 pcs of dumplings so obviously we ordered 4 different flavours!

Here we have: (From the left)
✅The Original
As the name states, tasted just like a regular gyoza. Taste is decent but nothing much to wow about. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
✅ Smoked Duck
Each dumpling was filled with chunks of duck meat, which were indeed on the saltier side but the hint of sourness from the balsamic vinaigrette provided a perfect balance to the dish.
⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
✅ Momo Curry
Filled with minced pork collar, curry spice and charred cauliflower. The prominent curry spices came through really well but I liked more was the labneh that comes along with the dumplings. It gives a refreshing flavour to the dish, which cuts the richness of the curry. Not bad! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
✅ Fried Pierogi
Deep fried dumpling filled with smoked bacon, truffle potato and cheddar. Served on a sriracha crema. This is one unique dumpling! Definitely never had a dumpling with such rich flavours before. The taste is fine but it can be quite jelak to finish a whole plate on your own. Luckily we only had one each.

Had errands to run after lunch so came down early at around 11.20am to prevent getting stuck in the queue. Proud to be the first group to arrive but there were quite a lot of people waiting outside even before the doors opened at 11.30am. We ordered 4 lunch sets with Burpple Beyond 1 for 1, each set including a bowl of egg noodles with a complimentary egg, a side of dumplings (4 pcs) and a drink. Swipe ⬅️ to see more photos!

Here we have:
✅Miso Mushroom Noodles + complimentary egg
Handmade noodles coated with miso tare, topped with braised mushrooms, shallots and spring onions. Flavour was pretty good but what I loved the most was the springy chewy texture of the noodles! The shallots and spring onions also added varying textures to the dish. Not bad!
⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
✅ Braised Pork Noodles + complementary egg Handmade noodles coated with a delicious, savoury soy tare, topped with shredded pork ragu, bacon sofrito, fried shallots and spring onions. The flavour of this dish is more on the savoury side as compared to the miso mushroom noodles. This was quite yummy too!
⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
✅ Sichuan Pork Noodles + complementary egg
Handmade noodles coated with Sichuan tare, topped with spicy minced meat, bacon sofrito, fried shallots and spring onions. I would say this is a toned down version of the usual Sichuan dishes that we are familiar with so if you are expecting a numbing, choking spiciness, this dish would appear pretty underwhelming. Taste is alright but I would prefer the other 2 noodles over this.

⁣⁣Japanese style hot-stone bibimbap! Bed of premium Koshihikari rice, topped with a mixture of pan-fried and barbequed pork and raw egg. Mixed together upon the addition of a secret sauce. This dish has a sweet, smoky flavour, together with the creaminess from the egg and the succulent marinated meat slices. Yummy!

Double-boiled soup of their signature Tonkotsu and bonito, served with thin, firm Hosomen ramen and seared pork cheek slices. The bonito added a savoury and smoky depth to the tonkotsu broth, a unique flavour to the usual umami base!
⁣⁣

Simple classic Tonkotsu ramen garnished with black onion sauce which enhances the flavour to another level. What I really love about their ramen is the broth. Rich but not overly salty, making it so addictive and easy to gulp down the whole bowl of soup.

Sō Ramen’s signature dish! This hearty bowl of ramen contains pork cooked in 3 ways, namely Toroniku (braised pork cheek), Cha Shu (braised pork belly in cha shu sauce) and Buta Kakuni (braised pork belly in special sauce), garnished with black onion sauce to enhance its flavour. Definitely for those who love the meats!

Fragrant coconut rice, fried chicken wing, fried selar fish, fried egg, anchovies and peanuts and the most important component...sambal chilli sauce! My fried egg was still runny in the middle and the chicken wing was still crispy even though it was cold by the time it reached home. Simple, yummy dinner but the rice portion is quite little. I don’t have a big appetite but the portion was just right for me after the addition of the fish.

Here we have:
✅Nasi Lemak With Chicken Wing ($5.90) + Selar Fish ($1.90)
Fragrant coconut rice, fried chicken wing, fried selar fish, fried egg, anchovies and peanuts and the most important component...sambal chilli sauce! My fried egg was still runny in the middle and the chicken wing was still crispy even though it was cold by the time it reached home. Simple, yummy dinner but the rice portion is quite little. I don’t have a big appetite but the portion was just right for me after the addition of the fish.

My favourite dessert out of the three! A refreshing palate cleanser after all the savoury dishes. The fragrance and sweetness of the lychee spreads through your mouth first and ends off with a hint of ginger and ginger bits within the sorbet. A unique flavour indeed! The sorbet was also topped with roasted peanut crumble and lime jelly to introduce more flavours and textures to the dessert.

⁣⁣Red date pudding served with vanilla bean ice cream, soaked in a longan tea glaze. This dessert is on the sweeter side so I would recommend sharing but it is a delicious dessert nonetheless.
