Accidental find while looking for something light for tea time. Saw a promotion of $1 per box happening from 3 to 5pm. All these for $5.
I simply like the ambience in this cafe. Very old school, homely feel. Even as i am writing this, I am seated on a traditional sewing machine converted into a vintage furniture.
The matcha latte was also wonderfully executed. The barista also took effort to design two different tea art for us. ($8.50 each, redeemed BB 1 for 1) Wonderful gesture.
The lemon cream tart ($7.50) was sooo good. The sour tinge of sourness, combined with the tart crust provides a wonderful combination. We really like this.
Will be back soon.
We ordered 2 bowls of seafood soup at $7.50 each and while my counterpart enjoyed the soup, he did not finish it, which was not typical. I personally did not enjoy it as much as the soup came warm, not hot, which was disappointing for any soups served. There were 2 big prawns, generous portions of soup and 3 big chunks of handmade pork ball (minced rolled balls). It's perhaps my personal take that the minced rolled balls were too huge for a soup which is called 'seafood'. Unami flavour was strong, but unfortunately, as mentioned, not hot enough. Me and counterpart have conflicting viewpoints about this soup.
This is so good. The ingredients are sufficient and more importantly, the curry is very satisfying. Almost comforting. You can see many customers ordering this as well. We finished the soup to the very last drop 😋😋😋 .
Relaxing afternoon having a cup of coffee and chilling in town.
This was really decadent. How nice to be able to enjoy this on Mid-Autumn Festival. 🥮🌕
Not cheap at 2 boxes for $128.
Looking for something to tantalise my tastebuds and ordered this bowl of laksa. So comforting and the gravy is so gao. 👍👍 Ingredients are not particularly plenty but its satisfying to have this.
$4.00.
Simply love the chill ambience at ORTO and such a pity to know that this place will be soon gone for development. Saw many families celebrating birthdays on a Friday night at the restaurant. We ordered the speciality fire chicken, which was a spectacle to behold when it was lit up. All the other dishes we ordered were fresh and tasty too. Would probably do a return to this place soon before it is gone for good.
Wanted to have their duck porridge but it was sold out by 1pm. You can tell how popular it is. Decided to go for their kwey chap, the less healthy option. It was sinfully good. 😬😋 The chilli, the ingredients and texture of the kwey- no complaints! Soup was delightfully tasty too.
Can I say how wonderful this duo flavoured tart is? Half fruit, half dark chocolate flavour. Was a surprise cake served chilled. Both flavours hit the right notes, with the fruits being sweet and generous and the dark chocolate being smooth and not overly rich. Such a pretty looking tart. This really made my day!
$45
Used up 2 BB deals to redeem a 1 for 1 Espresso and 1 for 1 Frappe. Fuss free to use the deals. Place is not filled up though there is traffic from the office crowd for takeaways.
Our party of 4 ordered the following for sharing:
Thuringer Rostbratwurst $21
Schewinshaxn Fladen $22
Bauernwurst $22
Nurnberger $21
Erdinger Dunkel 0.5 litre $15 (Happy hour $12)
The portions are hearty and a little too much for us but it was good. However, we were a little disappointed by the texture of the fladen. As much as the pork knuckle was wonderful, the pizza texture tasted more like biscuit, rather than flour dough. As such, the textures don't complement as well as how we would like this to be.
Total: $65.91
Worthwhile, considering we had a beer and 4 mains (2 BB redeemed). 🍺🍻
