New seasonal menu from Kabe no Ana. This creamy pasta is served cold and taste soooo good! Mentaiko cream base with salmon cubes and ikura. The cream sauce is not overly heavy and anything with mentaiko sure good. The grated radiah at the top when mixed in made the pasta even smoother!!! Gonna order many more times before they change the menu!
Also located on level 3, a huge plate of lamb rack for $7 with salad and fries sides. Asked for less fries because I was already quite full after the stingray. Very value for money and I think it tastes better than astons express. It was very popular and I had to wait 45 minutes for this.
At level 3 of the food market, the Sambal crayfish was already sold out at 6pm! Shiok sambal stingray $12 and sambal kang kong $5, sweating like crazy from the spiciness of both dishes.
The salted egg pasta was tasted a little bland. The sauce was a little diluted and lacked salted egg taste. But pasta was al dente and prawns were juicy. The soy chicken was delicious with crispy skin and with strong sweet soy honey taste. Roasted potatoes were replaced with fries for my chicken.
I'm in heaven!!
Was still feeling hungry after my lunch so was looking for some place in ION that serves small quantity rice bowls. Even though Ginza Bairin specialize in tonkatsu, this charshu don was surprisingly good! The pork and sauce was very tasty, not too sweet. Satisfied now!
Beautiful sashimi rice bowl that came at a steep price of $38. One of the nicest chutoro sashimi I have eaten in Singapore. Superb melt in the mouth fatty tuna! I don't normally fancy squid sashimi but this one didn't have the rubbery texture that I don't like! Also the ama-ebi was huge and super juicy and sweet! Yum!!However, the Maguro sashimi was a little disappointing.
Hidden at the corner of Liang court basement, this restaurant serves high quality and authentic okinawan dishes! The sesame Hiyashi (cold) soba $13, was super addictive, springy noodles marinated in sesame sauce that was not overpowering. The meat slices were very tender as well. Be sure to try their Pork belly and also the egg plant dishes!
Ending my meal with their Pavlova with fresh berries and strawberry puree. The meringue was baked really well and crispy. The fresh fruits and puree added sweetness to the dessert but there was a little too much whipped cream.
Salmon eggs benedict and "Ramly meets Wendy". Buttery hollandaise over perfectly poached eggs and toasted thick brioche. ($16) The Ramly meets Wendy dish was quite a unique dish! Egg wrapped over a square beef hamburger steak patty ($14) with wedges as sides. Portion is huge for the price! No GST here!
2nd time back to Cafe Seventy and realized they improved their menu! Now I get to choose between panini, wholemeal sandwich or wrap ($8). A healthy lunch and my daily dose of caffeine in their signature nutrition mocha that apparently has 30+ vitamins and minerals.
