Chin Huat has been around here for a long time. I have been eating here on a few special occasions since the late 90s.
Consistently awesome. Their chilli crab sauce is Thick, flavourful, tomato-ey and slightly spicy as well. So good until I dapao back the leftover sauce to drink it without being judged.
The crab behoon was good as well, the bee hoon has a strong Wok hei.
And the steamed fish was cooked to perfection, meat so soft and tasted very fresh.
Crabs, fish & other seafood are all picked in front of you at their live seafood tank area. So u confirm know your seafood is fresh. Crabs are weighted for you in your presences. So no alibaba.

$8 for awesome crispy fried chicken? 1 please, for my own good self.
Chicken was tender all around, surprising as usually spring chicken at most places will be fried till hard. The meat was juicy and oily.
The skin was crispy, the batter used was damn good.
Coleslaw was wonderfully think and creamy. Damn shiok.
Comes with a fried bun that was fried till crisp. Shiok!
Custard puffs were sold out. Thus had to get their custard tarts instead. Somehow it works. The tart crust was rather Solid and crunchy. The custard is damn food as usual.
Balmoral bakery has been around for decades, this old school bakery has provided me my birthday cakes when I was a young kid in the 90s.
Balmoral has been in sunset way, way before it become a hip area it is now. Sunset way used to be an old neighbourhood with wet markets and provisions shops.
Despite the low google reviews of malaysia chiak in general, the CKT here is rather not bad.
Got slighy Wok hei.

They have many unique pasta creation such as Miso Butter & Gochujang. But my favourite here is the Agio Olio.
You can create your own pasta and have your own proteins as how u like it.
1) Creamy Alfredo
- I will always have either poached chicken or smoked duck in my creamy Alfredo(or both) Will feel weird if I had seafood with this. Damn shiok, especially mixed with chilli flakes and parmesan cheese.
2) Tomato Pomodoro
- I will only have seafood with this, feels a little weird with chicken. The Pomodoro is non-spicy. So I usually doused it with chilli flakes for the extra kick. Seafood was fresh
3) Aglio Olio
- My favourite pasta here, will always have it with smoked duck. Will usually request for more garlic and more chilli flakes for this.

Wen Kang Ji was a very popular WTM stall at the basement of Golden Mile food centre. I recalled queuing over 30mins previously there.
Wen Keng Ji have since shifted from there, operated in Tampines 1 Kopitiam before shuttering there as well.
Wen Kang Ji have since opened up a few branches throughout Singapore, at Wisma Atria and most recently at CCK lot1.
Thomson plaza outlet here is located within Koufu.
1 thing very constant at WKJ, is their Char Siew, well marinated and each slice of char siew have a good portion of Fat/Meat ratio. Tasted rather good, not too hard and not too dry.
The Wanton and dumplings were bigger than most other WTM stalls.
$8.80 Portion comes with a dumpling.
A solid plate of Wanton Mee.
The Roasted chicken was tender and not dry whatsoever. Rice was fragrant & flavourful.
Chilli was very good too.
Evertop may be serving the best halal chicken rice I ever had.
Both the Steam & Roasted chicken are good.
Buffet at $19.90 net per pax.
Huang Lao Dou recently opened at Yishun 761. (Update: 15th Dec last day, relocation planned)
They have ala carte menu also.
Their signature here is definitely their Chicken Hotpot.
Buffet for 5 pax above, u can request to open 2 pots. Thus, we decided to go for the herbal chicken pot and the original chicken hotpot.
Herbal Chicken pot was only so-so.
But the Chicken Hotpot was rather good, u can choose your spiciness level, we went medium spicy and the soup was flavourful and the spiciness level for medium was slightly just above our threshold.
