With burgers (AND triple fries) so affordably priced from just $12 to $16 each, this is one burger party that practically anybody can, and should, crash.

I love anything that has salted egg sauce. And i just had to try this. It was something different from fries. In a good way, i find. Less filling so there's more tummy space for the mains! I like that they are not the mashed onions inside. Really rings of onions coated in batter. And then deep fried and drizzled with that salted egg goodness. Heavenly.

!!!!!!!!! This bowl of truffle wagyu beef with that huge slab of foie gras was SO DELICIOUS I still can't stop thinking about it 😍 I definitely will be back! I think the quality of food has improved from the Orchard Central days? I remembered the rice being hard and such but this is gooooodstuff. Still. So. Happy. From. This. 🤗 #TanukiRaw #burpple #8dayseat #eatoutsg

Coffee is perfect at Ronin, not the bitter sort. On a hot day a minty mocha is a sure hit.

Priced at $14.90++, Sprigs offers one of the best and most affordable lunch sets that I have come across near my school. Each set comes with a soup of the day and a glass of gourmet iced tea. My Surf & Turf consisted of a pan fried boneless chicken thigh, wagyu beef steak and a garlic buttered prawn. All of them were pleasing to the palate, special mention goes to the steak cause who doesn't love wagyu? The Duo Salmon Spaghettini on the other hand, done al dente and the salmon wasn't overdone. The creamy tomato sauce complemented the salmon and pasta really well, both aesthetically and in terms of taste. Sprigs also changes their lunch set menu on a fortnightly basis, so regulars do not have to worry about eating the same old dishes over and over again. Check out their menu on their website at http://www.sprigs-sg.com and note that Ala Carte dishes are not available during lunch. Let's see if my hectic school schedule allows me to become a regular here.

Gula Melaka Butterscotch, Walnuts Goji Berry & Vanilla Swirl Ice-Cream. Empress is owned by the Privé group, which quite explains the quality of this dish. The Sticky Date Pudding is of a balanced sweetness, complimenting well with the Gula Melaka Butterscotch with soft chunks to bite within. The interesting bit here is the Goji Berry & Vanilla Swirl Ice-Cream which injects an Asian-inspired sweetness to the rich and aromatic vanilla ice-cream. If you are looking for a safe dessert and love Privè's Sticky Date Pudding, this is a good option to place your bets on with a little Chinese twist of flavours.

Mmm! This was really good! 3 big fat meatballs drowning in a good old-fashioned tomato sauce which has a hint of smokyness to it. Nice!

French toast Brioche served with vanilla ice cream, $14++

The interior design, the expensive coffee equipment, the attention to details, the good looking serving staff all in neatly-ironed slightly tight white long sleeved shirts… “Even the napkins are the expensive kind.” Still in soft launch phase, the food is slightly uneven in terms of presentation and taste, but we are sure they will iron it out soon.

A trip to Ikea brought me to The Bakehouse located nearby. A cup of coffee and cake costs $12.50. Apart the the price tag, it's a quaint little place to hang out. A lovely cup of flat white without being overly bitter and a delicious moist carrot cake worth the calories!

When we ordered smoked salmon croissant, I was expecting it to be a closed sandwich style and not an open face sandwich. Brioche French toast is totally flawless! Perfectly cooked fluffy brioche French toast seated on a bed of crumbled crumb, garnished with fresh berries and topped with caramelised banana. With freshly whipped cream and finally dusted with snow powder! So appealing to sight and hits the home run when it tasted as good as it looks! Triple B breakfast is good too. Sautéed mushrooms perfectly seasoned, scramble eggs is cooked skilfully and those bacons are so addictive!! I wish the croissant is bigger though I know very well there's consideration of food cost. Haha! This is a place I wouldn't mind going back again for brunch!
