I’m normally not a crust guy but I love the fluff on these bad boys Ordered their pizzas via delivery twice so decided to try their food in person. Honestly their delivery prices are not that far off and the pizza still tastes pretty good. If you want ambience (we sat on L2 with aircon and street view) can head down. The pizzas are good, one of my fave in the West… 4 Honey tastes as good as I remember (love da blue cheese), also tried the Sausage Kale Ricotta which was not as meaty as I wanted but still good (the balsamic vinegar was a nice touch). If you like fluffy dough you will like their pizzas. Tried the cauliflower with hummus as well, it’s nice that they have low calorie options (yes I know hummus is not low cal but better than fries la I guess). Spare hummus doubled up as a dip for the pizza crust lol. We also had kombucha, plain water is self serve. Will be back to try the rest of the menu!

Best pizza in the west Honestly one of the better pizza places in the west. Their crust is so chewy and they offer a wide range of flavours. We tried Sausage, Kale and Ricotta flavour, and the combination came together quite well. I also like how the caulihummus dish tasted! The hummus was rich and nutty, and the fried cauliflowers were surprisingly soft to the bite. Atmosphere wise, it’s a pretty cozy place.

Wonderful hidden gem at KAP Found this wonderful hidden gem at KAP, a place to rest your tired feet and to rejuvenate. I ordered the Smash Beef Focaccia and a Lychee Pandan Fizz. The sandwich was packed with two thick, rich and flavourful beef patties and complemented by the warm, dimpled, airy (interior) and crusty (exterior) foccaaia bread, topped with smoked chedder and veggies. The final result is a well-balanced and rustic combination of happiness. The Frizz is a localized version of a soda drink, good to quest my thirst! Definitely worth coming back for a re-visit!

Penang Buffet Year‑end meal do be like that ~ feasting upon Penang cuisine. The Christmas Buffet Menu runs until the first day of the new year. It doesn’t differ much from their normal buffet, but the main star during this festive season was probably the chilli crab. The food was generally delicious. Whatever flavour it should be, they had it, and it was indulgent. Strong flavours, textures mostly cooked to the right amount. Food is good, but I personally enjoyed their beef rendang, satay, kueh pie tee and pulut hitam more. Service was okay, though a tad slow as there were many customers. One Of The Best Har Jeong Kai?? May look like a normal plate of chicken with rice, but contains one of the best Prawn Paste Chicken I've eaten. The Prawn Paste Chicken Rice ($5.80) from this coffee shop has a variety of ingredients, and the prawn paste chicken was so crispy and juicy, yet fragrant at the same time. Really appreciated the bite sized portions! The chilli given is to die for as well, as it is garlic-packed. Great if you are around in the area!

Seafood White Bee Hoon ($6.80) This is one of the best white bee hoons I have tried in Singapore!!! The use of a deep bowl to serve the bee hoon was smart as it allowed the noodles to be perpetually soaked in the flavourful broth (unlike if it were to be served on a mildly-curved plate). While the seafood did not taste super fresh, the BROTH more than made up for it -- I could just eat bee hoon and egg in that broth and be satisfied!

Pig trotters rice 5.9++ The meat was ok, not particularly good. But the chili is sharp and has body, and well loved

Cheesy seafood beehoon 9.9+gst The broth is very mild, it's really a clean seafood broth with the teeniest of funk, and slightly creamy from cream rather than cheese. Not jelak at all The prawns were snappy but too much sand. Scallops were ok, the meatballs were unique and quite good

Comforting YTF I’ve always enjoyed Bai Nian’s YTF, and this bowl really hits the spot. Generous amounts of YTF, noodles and warm soup. What more can I ask for to have this comforting bowl of soup on a rainy day? 😊

Pain au chocolate Quite a good rendition, incredibly crispy skin, there's some chew, and the molten choc was nice too. I think this is normal but the choc isn't too much

Tofu Soup Set ($7.50) its another best selling main dish and I felt that it's quite spicy aftertaste. But its best to eat during cold weather.

Pork Ramen ($6.90) I finally tried their ramen after trying their rice and bibimnoodle since my friend always order this most of time. But I find that their ramen was quite hard a bit and still got "q" texture. Pork was quite tough texture tbh.

Crispy Fried Korean Mackerel From Wonderful Bap Sang Only $23.5 ++ Highly Recommended.

Fried Chicken ($11.80++ 5 Pcs), Soybean Paste Stew ($16.80++) Underwhelming chimaek experience with the mother a couple of weeks ago… and this was accentuated by the fact we had queued on a Saturday night for close to an hour. The soybean paste stew also didn’t wow the golden palates especially when mum had just return from South Korea. That said the place draws a crowd for fuss free casual Korean dining. And we will choose BHC our new favourite Korean fried chicken over this any day.

Chicken Rice and Deep Fried Chicken Wings By the time I reached at opening time 6.30pm, there was already 5 in the queue in front of me and an unknown number of customers who had pre-ordered. For the record, you can pre-order from 4pm but they only start to pack at around 6.30pm. And so I waited for my turn. And waited and waited until 7.45pm! By then the queue behind me was about 13 customers long. The rice was fluffy and nice, the roast chicken drumstick moist and tender. The chicken gizzard was quite normal though I did enjoy its crunchiness. A bowl of soup was provided free and the clear soup tasted of chicken and ginger. The fried chicken wings were crispy from the coated batter which had little to no taste but the meat inside was well marinated and full of flavour. My only complaint besides the long wait was the chilli sauce which was not spicy nor tangy enough. But will I go all the way to Toa Payoh again and brave another one hour wait? Maybe not.

Fried Chicken Wings Had to queue a bit for this plate of chicken wings but it was worth it! Da Ji Hainanese chicken rice at Toa Payoh sells regular chicken rice but most people queue to buy their chicken wings. Crispy and constantly freshly fried - at $1.40 for a full wing it was really worth it! They also give you extra crispy bits if you ask for it.

Best Fried Chicken Wings Dare I say one of the best, if not the best fried chicken wings in town! Da-Ji is a stall that sells Hainanese chicken rice but is way more famous for its fried chicken wings. The stall only opens for business in the early evening and there is often a snaking queue outside of the hawker centre for its shatteringly crisp golden brown fried chicken wings which are juicy, tender and well marinated. I personally find them to be better than Eng Kee (which is my gold standard when it comes to fried chicken wings) because the flavors of the marinade permeate through Da Ji's chicken wings whereas Eng Kee can be inconsistent at times. Eng Kee is however better if you are saving them for later or the next day because their batter remains shatteringly crisp even after reheating in the toaster.

My go to Cantonese Singapore comfort food As usual, ordered my regular - nai lai chicken cutlet (curry like Thai spiced sauce), the seafood tang hoon and salt&pepper beancurd sticks. Additionally, ordered chili crab + fried man tou, salted egg prawns (deshelled) and fried ginger frog legs as had friends from Australia stopover in Singapore who wanted to try Singapore food. This dining place style is more Hong Kong style adopted Singapore flavours which my partner and I frequent. The chili crab had a slightly spicy punch to it which I love and nice egg dropped sauce which soaked up nicely with fried man tou. They served fried big sliced man tou instead of small man tou but no biggies. The fried ginger frog legs flavourful and crispy, good as a beer snack. The salted egg prawns was decent, nothing much to shout out for.

Comfort food which closes late at 3am Repeated customer. Good place for quality Tze char, fish steamboat and fresh seafood which opens till late at 3am. I would always order their seafood tanghoon and the salt and pepper fried beancurd sticks. Remember to request for their sambal chili which is super shiok! The other dishes my dining party of 3 ordered were steamed bamboo clams and stir fry Kai Lan. All’s good too. My type of comfort food in the middle of the night.

Freshly Steamed Turbot ($12 for every 100gms) Maybe I haven’t been paying close enough attention but I don’t think many seafood eateries, regardless of price point, serve fresh #turbot. And I am referring to swimming-in-a-tank kind of fresh. My dad who is Teochew and really knows his fishes, ordered one straightaway. Although it’s not cheap (our perfectly steamed 700gm specimen cost $84), we were very pleased with its medium-firm, springy and flavourful flesh and gelatinous skin. We are sure to return to try more dishes at “Tian Tian Seafood Restaurant” because the food we had turned out to be really tasty and well executed. Plus I like the old-school vibes of the place (they even have tables spilling out into the back alley of their shophouse unit). And for those of you who work late or are on the lookout for a supper spot that serves proper hearty fare, the good news is they operate from 5pm to 3.30am.

Gingko Nut Porridge You ji Tiong Bahru Hawker Centre A simple gingko nut porridge can be so comforting . It may just be gingko and porridge( and perhaps some beancurd sheets ) but there is something magical about this combination. For those of you who are used to porridge which is well seasoned, this porridge is very very lightly seasoned - but that’s the beauty of it . One of the rare places that sells gingko but porridge. Do order a portion of the chee cheong fun from this stall too :) really tasty with their home made chilli .

Chopped Blacklisted .... I rarely blacklist any food establishment and this is probably my first . The chicken was under seasoned , stiff and in no way reminiscent of sesame oil chicken. Most of the parts served were bones or what I call unwanted parts ... I would usually ask for prices before I make an order but seeing that most of the chicken dishes cost between 8 to 10, I was complacent this time and took the waitress’ recommendation because she seemed so impatient in taking orders and was rushing through . My eyes literally popped when I received the bill - this cost 20 dollars - even restaurants don’t charge such exorbitant prices , what more a coffee shop. It was explained to me that this was half a chicken served - but I really only saw bones and chips of meat . Service was also rude and indifferent especially when I went to counter check the prices at the cashier counter . I feel cheated ..... for the very first time . I felt my accountant hat 🧢 drop to my knees 😭..... Will never set foot to this place again ... 😖
