🤤"My gawd this is the best sammich EVER." -Me when I had their Cubano a few months back, but it's clear now that I was nothing more than a naive simpleton...'cuz their ✨Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich is THE best sammich EVER. Like for real this time!! Behold the cross-section of this multidimensional patty, with slivers of fat and juicy, tender sous vide thigh meat intimately melting into one another without restraint. The crackly coating of batter is immaculately seasoned, existing only to amplify the natural flavors. And as if the patty isnt titillating enough, they've added some cabbage slaw - redundant IMHO, given how moist the patty is - and spicy mayo sauce, which admittedly adds a nice subtle kick. Their ✨Patty Melt is also a crowd favourite and I can see why - you get an epic cascade of cheddar lava upon separating the two halves! However, the beef patty turned out a little too dry for my liking and the overall combination just reminds me of a slight above-average cheeseburger. Honestly though, on a whole, PBD has changed the sandwich game in SG and I'll definitely be there to witness their next collab!!

Every hangout at MBS with me inevitably involves a meal at The Bird, a quaint eatery I naturally gravitate to, as if drawn by some primal instinct to the rustic southern charm it exudes. For once, we decided to try something other than fried chicken and simply had to get their ✨Lobster Mac & cheese! And yes, it IS as good as it sounds!! For the price point, it’s only a given that each dish comes with a whole lobster. Ours was HUGE; judging from the plump, succulent flesh which almost seemed to burst out of its shell, this lil’ fella must’ve lived a pampered and luxurious lifestyle in its tank🙂 Be prepared for an epic cheese pull hidden beneath the crustacean beast - their American-sized macaroni is suspended in an ooey-gooey matrix of 5 cheese mornay, essentially a creamy binder tying the dish together with the interplay of its varying cheesy layers. Admittedly, this Mac is significantly pricier than the other offerings on the menu, but it’s definitely worth a try!

🤤So many ice cream parlors popping up everywhere, but Sunday Folks is still the most reliable one-stop shop for legit waffles and soft serve!! They’ve switched up the menu a little and changed the toppings that come with their signature waffles; the refreshingly light & floral✨Earl grey lavender now comes with peanut biscotti and strawberry slices which add to the whole assemblage of au naturale sweetness😍 Their ✨pistachio soft serve is as rich and earthy as ever, but I’m not too sure about pairing it with speculoos biscuits...carrying its own flavor, the latter inevitably masks the subtle yet characteristic nuttiness that we know and love. Still, the thought put into each and every plate (did u notice the charcoal biscuit which prevents the waffles from getting soggy?!? CUZ I DID!) is worthy of praise, ensuring you’ll leave with your dessert cravings sated!!

~$12 each, sorry cant remember!!
This fanatastical dessert - comprising bandung, grass jelly and cotton candy - is just the kinda thing you’ll slowly nurse over several hours; a much-needed treat for surviving a long week!😋

To end on a sweet note, go for the ✨Torta Al Limone, which sees a nutty scoop of pistachio Sicilian gelato perched atop a cloud of piquant lemon curd that is spread on a toasty lemon cake. The insides lean towards to the sweet side and are so so pillowy it’s almost like biting into a cloud!
Before you pig out, get an order of their signature ✨dough balls; just like mini pretzels, each blob has a browned crust encasing a piping hot pillowy core. The accompanying garlic butter is certainly VERY GARLICKY and will whet your appetite!
When it comes to restaurant names, the term “express” is usually associated with bland microwaved food...but please throw away these preconceptions when dining here!! Pizzaexpress’s pizzas are hand-stretched by trained pizzaiolos and come in many interesting flavors.
A must-get when dining here is definitely their ✨Laksa Pizza😍 Including even obscure ingredients like crispy tau pok & fragrant laksa leaves, each slice captures the essence of laksa in all its glory!! The ✨carbonara pizza came with a jiggly soft boiled egg and lots of bacon - nothing too special in terms of taste. Could’ve done with more of dat creamy béchamel sauce, but maybe that’s just my greed talking😋
Laksa Pizza $28
Carbonara Pizza $30
NOOOOO wildfire burgers have removed the shabu shabu Burger from their menu😭 So I had to make do with these more mundane offerings. Judging from the colour, the beef patty from the signature burger was of medium-well doneness yet taste-wise was pretty dry and tough throughout, masked only by the moist cramaelized onions and cheese. On the bright side, we did like their sweet potato fries! Came in really long strips, with fluffy sweet potato mash encased in a crisp outer shell. Worth the add-on!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this place sure knows how to make a mean grilled cheese sammich! Like a sloppy, obese long-term boyfriend, it just gets even meaner, bigger and badder with time(yeah, I actually compared pictures and it DID become more substantial?!), leaving you hopelessly addicted and always crawling back for more. One simply can’t forget the texture of that thick, creamy cheese that oozes out upon cutting through slices of toast that are heavily buttered and slathered in truffle bits😍

We also gave the avocado toast a try and were seriously impressed! The smashed avocado component comes as a humongous mass stacked atop a slice of sourdough, interspersed with quinoa, feta cheese and lightly spiced with a sauce that vaguely resembles kimchi. On top of that(literally and figuratively), TWO jiggly poached eggs are perched precariously, as if the slightest quiver of the plate can - and will - lead to their premature demise. When it’s Sunday brunch day and you’re seeking a hearty meal, Club Street Social is where you want to be!
Trying out some of this specialty pizza chain’s more unique offerings: smoked bacon with red apples, and - a flavor that’s new on their menu - pesto chicken! Despite its sweet & fruity name, the former turned out to be of the savory variety; thick leaflets of glazed bacon overlay the abundant toppings of mushrooms, capsicums and juicy apple slices (that remind one of pineapple bits from a nostalgic Hawaiian-flavored pizza) coated in barbecue sauce. And when served on its doughy crust, the taste profile matches that of a revamped & upgraded version of Dominoes!😋 I do appreciate a good pesto base, but this one was quite underwhelming, owing in part to being overshadowed by the stronger flavors coming from the chicken, onions and other toppings. That aside, the pizzas were pretty satisfying. In fact, we were WOWed by the generous portions, where the medium size was as big as a typical large-sized pizza!!! Come with friends or be prepared to enter into a food coma!!
