🐟Lightly Battered Dory (8.2/10)
The fish is incredibly soft and tender with a bit of a translucent colour while the exterior is very crispy. The fish doesn’t taste fishy at all! Its also pretty big in size, a really good deal.

🍹Passionfruit Peach Tea w/ Honey Lemon ($4.90 a la carte)
Suuuuper sweet, it kinda just tasted like really sweet honey lemon juice. I don’t find it that worth the price but nice presentation.

🍗Succulent Crispy Skin Chicken ($9.50)
Chicken is bussin. The skin is really crisp while the meat is juicy. My friend said the coleslaw was great too.

🍟Fries with Meat Sauce & Egg ($6.90)
The standout dish of the night, this is basically bolognese but instead of spaghetti, the carbs are fries. The egg was flowy and the sauce was savoury. Because of the nature of the dish, the fries do get soggy fast, which is the downside, but price wise pretty worth it.

🍄Fried Chicken Chop w/ Mushroom Cream Penne ($10.90)
I found the penne to be really creamy but a little underwhelming. The penne had a bit of an odd, slightly firm texture, and the sauce was a little on the blander side. It was pretty milky but nothing great. My friend who ordered this wasn’t a fan.

🍝Fried Chicken Chop w/ Salted Egg Spaghetti ($10.90)
Yes I ordered this because I decided that good health is for the weak. The fried chicken chop is pretty dang solid, its tender and crispy and juicy. The salted egg spaghetti was bussin too, the salted egg taste was very prominent and impressed my salted egg obsessed-self.

🍵 Iced Matcha Oat Latte ($8 / $9.50 via Grab)
Made with Naoki Matcha’s Barista Blend, this is a really solid cup of matcha. It is earthy and intense, and the natural fragrance of the oat milk makes the drink even more aromatic and delicious.

🍲 House-Special Bibimbap w/ Sweet Potato Rice ($16.90 / $20.90 via Grab)
This wholesome bibimbap bowl is filled with sweet potato brown rice and topped with seasonal vegetables, grilled tofu, housemade sauteed kimchi and housemade gochujang. The gochujang provides the dish with just enough saltiness and all the different veges and toppings further enhance its flavour. This was very satisfying!

🍞Floss Net Bun with Quail Eggs
📍Oishii Bakery
📌 West Coast Plaza
💰 $2.20

My friend and I argued over whether this bun was appealing or vomit-inducing. Personally I find it super cute and creative, while she was a #hater said it was disgusting. Naturally I wanted to try it so I got it (thank you friend for the treat) 🥰

The bun is both topped with and filled with seaweed floss, which I loved. There was a nice amount of floss throughout the bread and the quail eggs added a nice savoury taste to the whole thing. Kinda reminded me of those giant floss breads with eggs.

Would def get it again!

🍫 Matcha Milk Spread Brownie
📍Bread and Butter by XY Cafe (@breadandbutterbyxy)
📌 Robinson Road
💰 $5.50

A really classic yet delicious brownie, the matcha is rich and strong in flavour while the brownie itself has a rich cocoa taste and a cakey texture. Would definitely get this again!

🍞 Umami Mushroom Bun
📍MADU The Bakery (@madubakerysg)
📌 Race Course Road
💰 $6

When MADU The Bakery was still a home-based business, this was the one bun that turned me on like a light switch because ZAYUM SHE LOADED AF. This bun has cheese, mushrooms, and a shit load of bonito flakes. Trés magnifique wow.

True to its name, this bun is an umami bomb. Super savoury flavours from the mushrooms, salty bonito flakes, cheese and everything. The bread is soft and nicely toasted with a crisp exterior. I think theres an option to add on truffle oil, which would probably have made this extra extra bomb. Maybe if they added furikake to this, it would be the bombest.

Must try and I'll def get this again!

🍜 Shiba Signature Butabara Ramen with All Toppings
📍Ramen Shiba (@ramenshibasg)
📌 West Coast Plaza
💰 $20.90

This is their Shiba Signature Butabara Ramen and I elected to get all toppings for an extra $4 (slices of chashu, seaweed and egg).

The broth is really flavourful and delicious! The butabara (stir fried pork) tasted like regular pork imo, but it was a little more flavourful than the regular chashu. The chashu was a tad dry but tender enough.

While it was a good bowl of ramen, it was a little on the pricier end. I didn’t find the addition of all toppings to be very worth it, since the noodles already come with butabara, I’d say you might as well just get that.
