🫕Penang Fried Kway Teow ($6.80)
This dish was full of wok hei flavour and was also delightfully spicy. Each mouthful was full of flavour and it wasn’t too oily either. Was really impressed with this dish.
🍜Selayang Big Bowl Curry Noodle ($9.90)
This gigantic bowl of curry noodles came topped with prawns, taupok, meatballs, tofu and a whole host of ingredients. The curry was fragrant with a light milky aroma and it packed a bit of a spicy punch. For the incredible portion, I’d say it’s pretty worth the price!
🍗Chicken Wings 6pc ($8.90)
My absolute favourite thing from IKEA, these have been my guilty pleasure since I was young and they’re still as great as before. The wings are juicy and nicely seasoned and the skin is crispy and delicious. Also really well-priced!
🍖Pork Patty with Yuzu Sauce and Fries ($9.50)
Pretty surprising because the pork patty was more like a meatloaf than an actual pork patty, it came with diced mushrooms and other ingredients. Tasted more or less like the meatballs, except with a stronger gamey taste imo. The yuzu element was non-existent, the sauce served on it was the same gravy as the meatballs. Would pick the meatballs over this!
🧆Swedish Meatballs 16pc ($10.90)
Believe it or not, this was actually my first time ever trying IKEA’s famous Swedish meatballs. In my childhood I only ever got my favourite kid’s pasta, so trying the “adult” meal for the first time led to me ordering these balls. Really liked them, the meatballs were tender and not firm like Chinese meatballs and they have a really nice meaty flavour too. Plus the sauces were really interesting, especially the berry jam, which surprisingly worked really well with the savoury meatballs.
🍲Iberico Secreto Belly Don ($11.50)
Look at that sexy sexy egg WOW. The pork slices were delicious and meaty, the addition of the garlic sauce provided was also amazing. Its also pretty well priced for the portion!
🍛Collar Mille Fueille Cheese Katsu Curry Rice ($17.50)
I’ve always wanted to try this, putting melty cheese inside of fried meat is the embodiment of clogged arteries but idgaf cuz it’s hella bussin. The amount of cheese wasn’t as generous as depicted in the image but it was really melty and cheesy. The fried pork cutlet actually consisted of pieces of thinly sliced pork collar, the taste was pretty meaty and slightly gamey but still delicious. The curry was really fantastic too, not too salty and didnt taste like those packet curries that many restaurants use. It’s pretty pricey but so good!
🥧 Tea-flavoured Cream Puffs
📍The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. (@1872clippertea)
📌 ION Orchard / Jewel
💰 $4.50 each
Didn’t know that The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. had cream puffs! Even better, they’re tea-flavoured. Each puff comes with a sugary cookie crust, making them even more delectable.
☕ Earl Grey Tea Puff
This is the most suitable puff for tea enthusiasts, the tea taste is a lot stronger than all the other flavours.
🌹 Eternal Garden Tea Puff
The most floral-tasting cream puff, its infused with rose giving it a much more fragrant taste.
🥛 Milk Tea Puff
While it didn’t exactly taste like a cup of Teh C, the tea flavour was still evident. Its a lot lighter than the other flavours, more suitable for those with milder palates.
💕 Lychee Fiesta Tea Puff
Probably my favourite because of the fruitiness of the lychee cream!
They’re a little pricey for their small sizes but so pretty and high quality.
🥟 Fantastic Siew Mai
📍Fantastic Dim Sum (@fantasticdimsumsg)
📌 ARC380
💰 $10.80
Should have tried these in June because 🌈 but oh well, here's Fantastic Dim Sum's famous rainbow siew mai!
🍗 Chicken
Pretty average siew mai. Tastes like most other siew mai you’d get anywhere ngl.
🐟 Otah
Its a little spicy, I like that its different in taste from regular siew mai. The otah is nicely spiced and quite aromatic.
🥬 Preserved Vegetables
Saltier than the other siew mais, this was quite interesting as the saltiness provided it with a stronger contrast of flavours.
💛 Abalone
Generally tastes like the regular siew mai but with a piece of abalone on it. I’m not the biggest fan of abalone so I was indifferent about this.
🍛 Yellow Curry
Really liked this! The curry is really fragrant and has a coconut milk aroma. Really unique and stands out from all the others.
🍄 Truffle
The truffle taste is quite strong and there are little specks of truffle within the siew mai itself. Not bad!
Overall its a little pricey for a siew mai dish but really unique and I love all the various colours which makes it stand out in terms of presentation. Worth a try, though I think getting it is more for the novelty and the experience.
🍞 Ong Lai Huat
🧧 CNY 2023 Special
📍BreadTalk (@breadtalksg)
📌 Multiple Outlets
💰 $2.30
Another one of BreadTalk’s CNY offerings that caught my eye, this polo bun is filled with pineapple jam AND mochi 😱
The polo cookie is really fragrant and delicious while the pineapple jam is sweet but not too sweet. As always, the mochi is really stretchy and soft, retaining its chewy texture even when refrigerated overnight. The amount of fillings isnt super generous but the flavour makes up for it.
Pretty impressive and really unique!

🥐 Ham & Cheese Croll
📍Swish Rolls (@swishrolls.sg)
📌 Cluny Court
💰 $5.80
This is like breakfast in a croissant. Shit its so good. Croissant is flaky. Cheese is oozy and doesnt taste processed. Ham is meaty. Its like an elevated ham and cheese sandwich because you get the crispy butteriness of the croissant. Must get!

🥐 Pistachio Burnt Cheese Croissant
📍La Levain (@lalevainsg)
📌 Hamilton Road
💰 $7.80
A really creative pastry because combining pistachio and cream cheese is pretty unorthodox to me. The pistachio gives the cheese a nutty profile, but the creamy elements of the cheese are still able to shine through. The croissant itself is buttery and flaky and acts as the perfect base for the burnt cheese interior.
A really cool croissant, great to try if you like pistachio!
