we got the truffle carbonara and crab linguine. the truffle carbonara had a nice strong smell, was slightly peppery, had a good amount of bacon. but i think it couldāve been slightly creamier to balance the coarse peppers. the crab linguine was great! lots of crab. itās worth for half the price, otherwise i wouldnāt pay $28 for the pastas. other than that, the ambience was great and the service staff were lovely :)
we got the taiwan mazesoba and original mazesoba with charsiew. both were pretty decent. if youāre hungry i would recommend the upsize since itās free. the noodles were real chewy and the portions were big. HOWEVER, the deal we got was $32++ for 2 sets, which was essentially only $0.80 cents cheaper per person after calculating GST. which rly isnāt worth, even with the side dish and tea. but the food rly was good. itās just whether you want to pay for it or not lol
No matter how the company manages the cash flow and expenditure, itās all history and in the past. What we need to do is to look ahead on how we can preserve one of our iconic foods and brands that has helped put Singapore in the world map, inviting throngs of tourists into our sunny island and making bak kut teh as a must-eat dish before they leave the country. Coincidentally, I had bak kut teh from Rong Hua over the weekends and though itās decent, the peppery kick and tenderness of the pork ribs pale into comparison with the one thatās making the headlines.

Surprise find. Instead of heavy and jelak, this curry was pleasant and refreshing. That's mainly due to its tomato base. This dish also hinged on the beancurd, which did not disappoint. On a sidenote, this restaurant also has a disastrous waiter. With a curt attitude, you'd think he's in control, yet he had to check table numbers for every dish he served, constantly disturbing diners and serving wrong dishes.
it was my first time here so i must say i was pleasantly surprised when i found out we could fit two flavours into a single cup. the cup was also REALLY heavy so the ice cream is super creamy and dense. got the white chocolate nori and their special (partnered with mexican resturant superloco) called arroz con leche. the white chocolate nori was literally sweetened seaweed bits with white chocolate-covered almonds. took a while to get used to it bc it was a rather odd combination. the arroz con leche had a very exotic flavour, with mango purƩe and coconut notes. almost tasted thai!!
Menu on Burpple Beyond has not been updated ā Beef Teriyaki has been replaced by Beef Chilli Cheese. We ordered Smoked Chicken & Turkey Bacon and Cheese. Wait time was approx 5-10 mins and the sandwiches are really nice! Perfect as a snack. Think fluffy runny eggs, mayonnaise, fluffy buttered toasted bread and grilled turkey bacon/shredded grilled chicken. š
Note: Eating it might become a messy affair though since the sandwich is kinda overflowing š¤”

Kyoto matcha, less ice, half sugar - go for 70% sugar if you like sweet stuffs otherwise this is good enough!
Oolong latte with pudding - tea leaves brings out authentic oolong taste. Pudding balances bitterness.
Costs $6.90 (large cup) with Burrple 141.
Perfect pitstop for shopping š at Jewel!

was super excited to try this bc this has been on my list for the longest time!! did not expect the portion to be this big, totally worth the $$$. the brioche bread was fluffy yet well toasted on the outside and the pulled pork was sooo good, it was sweet and had a slight tanginess. they were also super generous with the amount of pulled pork. with the poached eggs, everything went so well together and i was left feeling so satisfied š
Pretty wide variety of meat available (chicken, pork, beef) with unique flavours such as curry and herbal marinated meat, in addition to the usual unmarinated, black pepper, teriyaki... Not a fan of curry but herbal is not bad. They also have processed food like crabstick, hotdog, luncheon meat, veggies, mushrooms and kimchi, different types of sauces (ssamjang, red pepper sauce, sweet thai chili, doenjang etc), cooked food (tteokbokki, chives pancake, waffles). Cooked food was not to my liking, I prefer the bbq stuff.
As we used BB 1 for 1, we had to adhere to a 100 min time limit and were charged original price $29.90 + svc charge for 2 pax. Drinks was an additional $2.50 for free flow. Non-BB customers can get 20% off original price and there is no time limit.
Service staff are friendly and nice. :)
Total cost: $32.80 for 2 pax
1-for-1 with #burpplebeyond!
I would gladly forgo bubble tea for the bespoke teas here at @steepedteabar when I am in Bugis. In addition to its minimalistic and relaxing interior which makes it an excellent hangout choice, I was impressed by the quality of the fresh brewed teas extracted using an espresso machine. Clean and natural tasting. šÆ We got ourselves the grape oolong and pear high mountain oolong from the signature tea mocktail selection.
Just as the boyf wanted, the grape oolong was suitable for no sugar option where delicate sweetness from grape juice and pressed grape skin tartness meet a floral oolong. I was, instead, awed by the pear high mountain oolong which contained actual Williams pear purĆ©e. A real deal! The robust tea notes were more distinct in this tropical pairing. They have also recently released a whiskey peach tie guan yin cocktail, cousin of their peach TGY mocktail. How interesting things have gotten. They also carry LāAtelier Tiramisu, my all-time favorite Tiramisu.
Thanks to #burpplebeyond, we enjoyed 2 tea mocktails at the price of 1, it was such a sweet deal! (Pun intended). I am sure I am gonna run out of my #burpplebeyond deals here in no time for such unique espresso-brewed teas!
