The dish has a nice sweet savoury taste, very homely tasting! Onions all perfectly soft and stewy, some of the veg (carrot & onions) even had some char to it. Rice was not bad, sticky and moist. Pork belly was shabu-shabu thin and was very soft, quite fatty so I had to remove a bit of fat. The set comes with half a ramen egg, crunchy pickles, some pork floss small side dish, and miso soup with tofu and seaweed.

Overall I enjoyed it and would be back to try the bittergourd, which was not avail when I went - they were super swamped with the long queue, so they hadn’t cut the bittergourd yet. Auntie was super nice and apologised, and recommended this as the waiting time would be shorter as her husband would be preparing the batch soon.

San marzano tomato, fior di latte, pecorino, basil, olive oil

Crust was lightly crunchy at the edges, with fluffy, moist, chewy insides - it bounces back when pressed into which is always a good sign. Really liked the dough.

I do love a classic margherita and this satisfied, flavours were great. Just enough cheesiness, tomatoes were tangy, and overall the pizza was very easy to eat, I didn’t feel too stuffed after it. 1 pizza per pax sounded too much initially but it turned out to be the perfect portion! Share the pizzas so you get to try diff flavours~

One thing though - would r have preferred the Basil to be placed onto the pizza after coming out of the oven, instead of getting mostly burned in the oven.

Nonetheless a good pizza that I was very satisfied with, would definitely return!

📍Juz Bake #02-149

The item that got our attention - KA for $2.80? In a hawker centre?

It was the bready type, was fluffy inside. Was rather buttery and sweet, as expected of a KA. I liked the crisp outer, hard sugar shell at the bottom, which was quite thin so it doesn’t stick to your teeth. Quite nice treat, and definitely worth the $2.80. Eat immediately when you get it! It's warm and nicest when freshly baked.

It had too much milk, coffee taste was probably diluted because of that. Disappointed, didn’t really enjoy it.

Mhk is the doughy type, it comes in large pieces that are hand torn - smooth and thinner at the ends, thicker and more doughy in the middle. The doughy type is not my fav, but I still like that it had a handmade quality to it. Ikan bilis is crunchy even when soaked, and has a smoky taste! Soup is p tasty, it had the freshness of the pork and the added flavour from the egg. Pork is v lean, not v tender but not tough either, just that it has a bit of 腥味. Prawns were v fresh and large! Not overcooked.

Overall I liked it, the soup is the highlight for me! Didn’t mind that I had to queue for about 30 mins, but if I had known I would only choose to eat it if the waiting time was <15 mins.

Had my doubts about pulled pork pizza w pineapple, kimchi. Only the fig chutney and fior di latte called out to me. but I’m glad it turned out quite nice! I didn’t rly like the pineapples tho they could be juicier. Kimchi was q spicy. Loved the fig chutney, it added a honey-like sweetness that went well with the pork!

Dark Chocolate Ganache, Caramel, Port Reduction, Orange

Dark choc ganache was smooth, shortbread was buttery and not too crumbly. Caramel was thick and sticky and sweet, not my favourite part of the dessert. I thought it was okay, but my friends enjoyed this dessert. We all weren’t too big fans of the port reduction tho, it had a cherry/blackberry taste that gave off cough syrup vibes.

Raw Red Prawn, Fried Spot Prawn, Lime Leaf

Loved the raw red prawn - so fresh and sweet, with a tender texture with a slight bite to it. The fried spot prawn was crunchy, with buttery flavour; I liked it more than I expected to, as I thought eating the whole prawn (shell and legs and all) would be too much munching. The sauce was also done well - a creamy rich briny sauce with lime leaves that added a slight zesty taste.

Mafaldine was a bit harder than I liked, I wished it was slightly softer while still retaining a bite. Nonetheless, would still recommend this dish! Those who like al dente pasta (the true Italian standard of al dente) would find this level of doneness suitable for them.

Red Wine-braised Octopus, Beef Tendon

Marcy’s does their sauces really well, and this was no exception. The rich, hearty red wine tomato sauce was absolutely delicious. Sliced octopus was tasty, and so were the gelatinous beef tendons. The rigatoni was done al dente, and topped with crisp breadcrumbs. I enjoyed this but I would have preferred a different pasta to go with the sauce.

KAFFIR PISCO SOUR
Barsol Pisco, Citrus, Kaffir Essence, Egg White

Was a nice drink, slightly sweet, slightly tangy.

QUEEN OF HEARTS
Widges Gin, Rose, Citrus

Apple Gastrique, Puff Rice

This was so good!! The brussel sprouts were crisp and tossed in a sweet and sour apple gastrique sauce, topped with puffed rice and other crunchy stuff (tasted a bit like mamee snack? but more boujee). We all liked this a lot.

Avruga Caviar, Sundream Tomato

Sauce was really nice, flavourful and well-balanced. The tomatoes were super good, juicy and sweet and yummy! The amberjack itself was of a decent thickness, it wasn’t fishy but I wished it was served cold so it could have more of a fresh bite to it.
