Good points first - I liked that it was mild and very creamy - texture was good, yet not too jelat. However, the base was so thin and feeble. The menu stated "wholemeal crust", but the crust was barely there. I would have appreciated a thicker crunchy crust, so that we get textural variation - creamy soft cheesecake with crunchy buttery crust.

Josper grilled secreto cut of Iberico! They were sliced to a good thickness (it's thin, but still has a bite), and was rather meaty and juicy. Though not the most tender, it was still enjoyable, and the chimichurri gave some additional flavour + crunch. Certain pieces had a thin layer of crispness at the sides, which I liked.

Having been to Spain earlier this year, I've had a fair share of spanish tortillas and this one measured up, I liked it! Upon slicing into the Spanish omelette, the juices all flowed out. Pretty flavourful with a creamy eggy centre and chunks of tender confit potatoes, alongside chorizo that wasn't too salty. Best eaten hot!

These baby squid were breaded with semolina, giving a light delicate crisp (not a hard crunch), which we enjoyed. The squid also wasn't overcooked, no toughness/rubberiness here. Was a nice snack to munch on.

Wasn't a big fan, I didn't like that the chicken was all chopped up. The curry had a nice heat to it, it's fragrant but the flavour profile wasn't to my palate. Egg was hard. I did like that the slightly sweet bun complements the curry chicken.

So good!! I loved that it had tons of veggies - enoki, naibai, potato slices, lotus root slices, baicai, and goji. Yong tau foo pieces were crisp as they were deep(?) fried. The stuffing is vegetarian but resembled minced meat, was flavourful but not salty. I liked the taupok the best, but the stuffed mushroom and eggplant were both great as well, juicy and tasty. It's also served with some tanghoon, with a pumpkin broth (I wouldn't call it gravy bc it's not v thick) that had a nice natural sweetness.

Was v filling, I was full and v satisfied!

Finally tried Hammee’s!! It’s good - juicy beef patty with a nice char on the edges, fluffy buttery toasted potato buns, and sweet soft caramelised onions. I wished that it came with pickles by default, I’ll do an add on next time as I felt for the refreshing crunch + sour taste. Satisfied, and even more so at this price point.

The triple cooked fries were also quite nice, was crisp and crunchy.

Comparing it to OFC, I still prefer OFC but Hammee’s burgers are a very good, close alternative too. But OFC’s fries are better, those come with skins on!

Foong kee is back!! Beautifully roasted meats as usual. The queue speaks volumes. The charsiew is nicely caramelised, tender yet not too fatty. Roast pork has a crisp skin, meat is surprisingly juicy given that it’s quite lean, and isn’t too salty. Rice is average, but paired with a savoury sweet sauce, and refreshing sliced cucumbers. Come before 12.30, because you’ll have to queue for a bit and they sold out by the time we left at about 1.30pm on a Sat.

Kinda disappointed that I found it okay only, given the 5 star google reviews. They allow for tasting before ordering - the uncle gave us a spoon of croissant (wasn’t v croissant-ish, I was not sure what I tasted) and pancake (maple syrup was the distinct taste) to try, felt that these had a bit of a floury taste?? The pistachio which I opted to try was alright, could be more nutty. The rum and raisin was the nicest out of all, there was a nice rummy sweetness to it.

I wasn’t inclined to make a return trip, but I want to give it another try, maybe other flavours are better?

Wantons we’re smooth and slippery, sufficiently filled and nicely seasoned. Soup had a nice flavour. Noodles were thin and springy, more to the HK crystal noodles style, tossed in a dark sauce. Charsiew was lean, some pieces were quite nice, some dry, and had a sweet marinade. Fried wantons were v crisp tho a bit salty. Overall was satisfied, was a good find!

Ugly cabbage with fish sauce was another staple favourite - crunchy cabbage that’s super well down! 😋
