Hainanese chicken satay was another THICC and tender one with that charred smokiness and well-marinated meat!!
Sambal stingray was another of my favourite! The stingray itself was THICC hehe and the spicy sambal kicked a punch…
Chilli prawns with mantou was my favourite!!! The tomato-ish eggy sauce with a small kick of spice with a generous serving of yummy prawns that are de-shelled! Must order!
Hokkien Mee was described by Chef Joel as a “clean” taste - wokhei taste wasn’t too strong but Chef Joel shared that this was his intention to create this “clean” taste to bring out the rich umami prawn broth.
Amazing grilled fish - crisp skin, flesh is super succulent and juicy, has a v nice bite to it. I love it so much!! It’s served with soft, pearly rice, pickles, salad (thinly sliced cabbage in sesame sauce), and miso soup. They also serve tea which was v nice and roasty. I was super full after that but very satisfied~
Sooo good!! Thin noodles were super chewy and well coated in a fragrant oily sauce, and came with minced meat, black fungus, crunchy ikan bilis, century eggs, crisp and aromatic fried shallots, pork lard, and coriander. I tried the bursting meatball before and loved it, and it’s still rly good - bouncy meatballs with a v juicy and flavourful meat filling within. An enjoyable meal!! I could do without the century eggs and less oil as it was slightly too oily, but I defo would recommend~
This was a proper milkshake - thick, creamy, smooth and refreshing, with a nice choc & pb flavour. It was delicious! But it can get kinda surfeiting, as it’s really thick so please share it~
Compared to the Cuban, this wasn’t that great, but it was still tasty. Egg, lettuce, tomatoes, ham, bacon, and herbed chicken cubes in a triple decker sandwich. I wasn’t a fan of the chicken (tasted kinda stale?) and as much as I like bread, a triple decker is too much for me. I didn’t mind it, but it’s not something I would order again.
This was superrr good!! Ciabatta was toasted and was rly crisp and crunchy, but not dry / over-toasted. Loved the combination of the juicy, tender pulled pork, ham, melty cheese, caramelised onions, pickles, and mustard - it was really satisfying. Best of all, it was served PIPING hot so it was extra yummy. They also give a side of coleslaw, which was refreshing and crunchy, complemented the sandwich really nicely. It surprisingly didn’t feel too heavy bc it’s not a greasy sandwich. I really enjoyed this and would definitely come back for it!!
Organic red and brown rice, falafel of the day, red pepper, grilled pumpkin, Japanese cucumber, tofu, plum sesame sauce
Ahh I love toss and turn! It’s one of the better salad options around my area - I prefer it over the salad fork, poke theory, and other less well-known brands. The falafel was sooo good? Crunchy, well-spiced and flavourful 👌🏼 The tofu was p fresh, grilled pumpkin was sweet, cucumber and red pepper was refreshing and crunchy. Plum sesame sauce was tasty too! My mom’s mushrooms were juicy and earthy, was rly yummy. Portion is good too.
Black pork, shimeji mushroom & assorted capsicums with yakiniku sauce & poached egg on rice bowl & miso soup
Was decent, pork could have been thicker and juicier but it wasn’t dry, mushrooms and capsicums were tasty, and a runny yolk is always welcome. Rice was alright, not of poor quality but also not as moist/pearly/sticky as other good Japanese restaurants.
These mini cookies were indeed chunky and fresh! We got the double choc with macadamia, and it was crunchy outside softer inside, enjoyed it!
The hojicha was also p nice - milky but with a distinct hojicha taste and aroma.
