Feng shui pear, feta, pistachio, yuzu, honey-lime vinaigrette

Was a pleasant salad, I liked the yuzu and vinaigrette in it. But nothing special, just a dish to get some greens in.

Pickled seasonal vegetable medley, crispy chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, sourdough

Hummus was quite nice, creamy and nutty, but generally the hummus I’ve had are quite good so this doesn’t really stand out.

Thunder tea chimichurri, sakura ebi oil, fried shallot, macadamia

Mushrooms were juicy and went well with the above accompaniments, I particularly liked the use of macadamia. It was served in a pool of oil, I would rather not have that, but it wasn’t rly cloying thankfully.

Was nice tho not outstanding. It had nice grill marks and was crisp, was not over-toasted/dry. However, parts of some pieces were completely burnt - what a waste. A bit miffed as they clearly could see the bread was black and inedible, but yet still served it.

Roasted kabocha, heirloom carrot, asparagus, cashew

Super delish! It had a really nice depth of flavour. The natural sweetness of the kabocha and carrots came through, the dish was very well balanced. I wouldn’t consider this the typical risotto - I’m not sure what kind of rice they used but it felt almost a bit like a western porridge. It might not be a classic risotto, but it is definitely a memorable one.

Tiger prawns, mussels, crustacean cream sauce

This was really good! Pappardelle sheets were fat and flat, done al dente, and slathered in a rich and seafoody sauce. I really loved the sauce - it was so flavourful but yet not heavy. Tiger prawns were big and cooked well, firm with a nice sear. Mussels were tasty too! Would come back for this, I think it’s good to share between 2-3.

Kung pao sauce, goose berry, pickled green chilli
Beef Short Rib

Was moist and not overcooked, but not as tender as I had wanted. Was an okay dish, nothing outstanding.

Tiramisu was rather interesting as it has milky oolong + coffee chantilly, texture was nice and moist but not wet. But I still do prefer a classic tiramisu, complete with a coffee + alcoholic kick.

Jasmine ice cream, puff pastry, toasted buckwheat, pine nut, pumpkin seed, chamomile syrup.

One of my top 3 fav dishes here! Light, delicate and delish! Every component worked well together. Jasmine ice cream was great - why is it not a more common flavour? Had a pleasant floral fragrance, was p refreshing! The puff pastry was surprisingly not buttery (at all?) but still was really crisp, kinda like a thin plain wafer biscuit, and it worked in this dessert. Enjoyed the chamomile syrup, which was v lightly sweet - v different from say, maple syrup which is more saccharine. Loved the nutty flavours and crunchy texture that the buckwheat, pine nuts and pumpkin seeds brought.

WOW I haven’t had waffles that I really liked in a longgg while - I used to really like creamier/sf’s waffles but I feel that it became less fluffy the last time I had it.

Gelatiamo’s waffles were brilliant! Delicately crisp outside, but still manages to be soft and chewy inside, whilst not being too thick / jelat.

We’ve had their gelatos many many times before, and each time it is of a consistently good texture. Smooth and creamy, with distinct flavours that are as described.

I rmb not liking the coffee flavour the previous time, but this time it was great, with the coffee flavour coming through, and it’s no longer as coarse as before (they put coffee grounds in it). The earl grey was lovely as well, with a strong tea flavour that was surprisingly bright, almost refreshing. Kinder bueno was on the sweeter side, but it was different from what I expected. It wasn’t a rich chocolatey hazelnut super-sweet flavour, but more of a caramelised(?) hazelnut flavour. Interesting and different, but I preferred the coffee / earl grey.

I’ve always considered gelatiamo as a place for reliably great gelato. In addition to that, I’ll now be mentally assigning it as my go-to place when we want to have waffles!

This was alright, the cod is quite firm and wasn’t dry, but I wouldn’t order it again - it didn’t feel very cohesive. I did like the housemade dill tartare and the buttery brioche bun. They gave quite a meagre amount of salad.

Classic type of brunch fare, but it was done well. The sous vide pulled pork shoulder was moist and flavourful, probably bc of the savoury sweet house bbq sauce, and wasn't salty! It went well with the scrambled eggs, english muffin, and hollandaise sauce. They gave maple bacon too but it was like 2 miserable pieces in total so it didn't make much of an impact. Honestly quite pricey but it was a nice dish so I’m glad I tried it.
