It’s tasty - pork was tender, but it’s not a must-order I feel. Have had juicier, more flavourful ones!
Thin skin with a juicy, bouncy prawn filling. Not bad!
Great as usual - fluffy bao, good ratio of meat to bao, rather generous with the filling in fact. Pork was relatively lean and tender, not too sweet nor salty. A must-order for us each time we visit!
First time trying this and it’s good!! The shrimp is indeed crispy, the batter is light and delicate. It’s not soaked in sauce so it isn’t too soggy even after some time. But I would probably ask for the sauce to be separate next time!
Yummy! Loved their porridge - the rice grains are broken down into a gooey, smooth, thicc but not toOo thick texture which makes it v easy to eat. Shredded pork is tasty and moist, and the super crunchy youtiao is great as usual. This usually comes with century egg but we don’t eat that so we made a special order for no century eggs to be added. We also had the Grass Carp Fish Belly Congee ($10.80) which had the same great texture but with fish slices instead. Our go-to porridge orders here at imperial treasure!
The noodles were decent, my meepok was reasonably springy, but could do with more vinegar. The mee tai mak had sufficient vinegar tho. Ingredients-wise, there’s 2 types of fishballs (I prefer the scraggly looking one that looks more handmade as it’s softer), fishcakes, a prawn ball (was bouncy!), and 2 other items (idk how to describe them but they are made out of fish paste). Was decent but not impressive. They don’t serve the teochew herkiao in their noodles so u gotta order a separate bowl of soup with it, which I’ll do next time. Went for size M as per the lady’s advice, as she mentioned the size S ($5) one doesn’t have much ingredients. But I think I’ll stick to S bc M was a bit much!
A laminated pastry topped with cream cheese, jam & berries. Cream cheese was rather sweet, surprisingly not much of a tang. Not soggy, but could be crispier. It's a pleasant snack, but I don't think I would repurchase. Quite a large portion, bigger than the average croissant - thankfully we had 4 to share amongst.
First time trying this - I usually go for the tonkotsu, and surprisingly I prefer the bonito soup. The bonito ramen comes with chicken x bonito x pork soup, with tender thin pork cha-shu, bamboo shoots, seaweed, and spring onions.
Comparing the soups, the tonkotsu has a more thicc and creamy texture (the collagen!), while the bonito is more flavourful (umami from the bonito I guess) but the mouthfeel is cleaner and easier to drink bc it’s not as creamy (less collagen?).
Also this comes with a thicker noodle as opposed to the regular thin noodles in all their other ramens. It’s nice too, but I am a sucker for their thin noodles which are more outstanding to me. Either way, still my fav ramen spot in sg! Maybe I’ll try to see if I can order bonito ramen with thin noodles bc that would be my ideal combo!
We always get this bc we like this sort of dish with lighter flavours. The noodles are the same as the rest of their noodle dishes, chicken soup is natural and flavourful and clean. Meat can be more tender but overall it’s something my parents like so it’s always on the order sheet!
I love this so much!! The noodles have a nice bite and the bean sauce is so flavourful. There’s minced pork, firm tofu (taukwa), edamame and scallions. There’s an appropriate ratio of sauce / noodles / ingredients so the noodles are not dry and u don’t finish the ingredients before the noodles are done.
Skin is thin and delicate, meat filling and soup are tasty as usual. Just that when it came it wasn’t rly hot, so it wasn’t v shiok this time.
It’s $6 at MBS but $5.50 at other outlets. The price of this has gone up over the years, but it’s still a must-order for me each time. The sauce is savoury, sweet, with just a hint of spice heat. The seaweed, dongfen, firm tofu, beansprouts and chili/pepper (?) is tossed in that sauce and it’s super satisfying - love the flavours and textures of this appetiser 🥰
