Strawberry basil was quite refreshing, the basil was quite strong and lent a herby flavour to the strawberry base. It’s interesting and quite pleasant, but I wouldn’t reorder. The pistachio was lightly nutty and on the milkier side, we prefer a more intensely nutty one (like dawn’s / dopa’s) as we usually share our gelatos and it doesn’t get too cloying. But this one we could probably eat a full scoop by ourselves as it’s light! So I guess it depends on what your preference is.

The cones was alright, thin and crisp but quite fragile. Can try!

Tasted neither like maple nor walnut - on first taste it had this weird cookie dough taste that wasn’t very pleasant. The only saving grace was the texture I guess, it was quite thick and smooth. Would not recommend.

My friends got other flavours and I got to try - the matcha is better, quite strongly matcha and reasonably bitter; the coconut lychee is also another flavour to avoid as the coconut cream taste was too strong and tasted quite off-putting, not refreshing at all and the lychee flavour was barely discernible; pistachio was lightly nutty but more on the milky side so those who prefer a more intensely nutty one would find it a bit mild.
I think the sunset way outlet has better flavours. But I’ve tried burnt cones thrice and it hasn’t really impressed so this visit affirms that it’s not someplace I’ll go to unless someone else suggests it + can redeem burpple. At the original price of $6 per premium scoop it’s a bit much for something that is *okay only*.

Delish! Bread is crunchy and toasty, panko crust on tonkatsu is crunchy and not too thick. Tonkatsu is lean and reasonably thicc/meaty, could be more tender but still decent - I ate it the day after, and reheated it. The sauce is quite standard, savoury and delish, with some shredded lettuce.

Siew Mai, Har Gao ($5); Salad Prawn Dumplings, Steamed Pork Ribs with Black Bean Sauce ($4.50); Ma Lai Gao ($3); Char Siew Bao, HK Egg Tarts ($3.50), Mixed Pig Organ Porridge ($5)

Generally quite satisfied with the spread! The ones I would go for again are:
- Ma Lai Gao: super soft and fluffy and jiggly, with a light brown sugar taste; I liked it a lot!
- Siew Mai: v juicy and bouncy, generously filled with meat and a thin layer of skin.
- Egg Tarts: got these free with >$30 spend! Tart crust was buttery and lightly crunchy, custard was smooth and not too sweet. Must eat there, I dapao-ed 2 bc we were too full and my sis found it soggy and discernibly sweeter a few hours later in the evening.
- Char Siew Bao: fluffy soft bun, filled with sweet savoury meat. Was v saucey especially when hot! When it cooled down it was less saucey as the bao soaked up some of it and was better able to contain the filling without spillage. Not say MUST try but still a nice csb.

I was neutral about the:
- Salad Prawn Dumplings: they were nice and crisp, filled with a nice bouncy prawn filling, but I found the residual oil on the plate a bit off-putting and they aren’t in my usual dimsum list anyway
- Porridge: the consistency was like a soupy starchy porridge, it’s alright but not my favourite. The meatballs were nicely seasoned, pork slices were tender. Didn’t eat the organs bc I don’t like them but my bf said they were alright!

Wouldn’t order again:
- Har Gao: the prawn filling is juicy and plump, skin was decent but I didn’t like they put some sort of vinegar in it. I like sour stuff but I don’t expect Har Gao to be sour!
- Steamed Pork Ribs: was alright, tender but I didn’t like the beany/floury thing they placed on top? And the flavour was too peppery for my liking. I wna taste the natural sweetness of the pork ribs. My bf liked this tho so it’s a personal preference thing.

Very yummy! I get the hype about it. Bun was v soft and fluffy, with a wonderfully crunchy cookie crust - it’s not like the usual lame kinds which are sugary and just crumbles off. This one is sweet but not too saccharine, and the layer of cookie crust can be lifted off from the bun, not in crumbles. It’s nice with butter, but there’s just toOoO much. They were not kidding about the slab of butter, it was rly a slab. Think I’ll either opt for less butter, or just get the classic one without butter ($4.50) in future!

It’s also huge so good for sharing, and as my friend pointed out, it’s appropriately sized for the price, given that usual bolo buns are definitely not $4.5/$5.

It’s a very fragrant spicy curry potato w minced chicken. Cubed potatoes are soft, would have preferred if there was a bite to it rather than it just disintegrating, minced chix bits adds a meaty flavour. There’s curry leaves too.

Cookie crust is crunchy but not as crunchy as when fresh, but still yummy bc of the texture it gives, and it’s sweet but not overly saccharine.

Bread is soft tho not as distinctly fluffy as the bolo bun, and slightly crisp bottoms after toasting in the oven!

Yummy buns from them! But a bit spicy for me, would rather go for their bolo bun.

The purple grape one is made with Kyoho grapes, there’s handpeeled grapes in there! Osmanthus jelly was mild, couldn’t rly taste any floral flavours. I opted for 0% sugar but I think the “least sugar” option is better, as sugar brings out the flavours of the beverage. The very green grape was nicer, it gave me qoo vibes but not as sugary sweet! Note to self: the green grape w cheezo, least sugar is a good option to get! But only for sharing, one drink by myself is too much for me 🤪

Yummy! The udon was of good quality and quite qq, better than the average udon which doesn’t have as nice a bite to it. The soup was clear and light, and the burdock tempura was good too - crisp and the thin strips of burdock had a pleasant fibrousy texture, but was still very easy to eat. It was a little oily tho, but thankfully it didn’t leave a greasy aftertaste.

The self-add-on toppings like shredded seaweed, spring onions, chili powder, and tempura bits was a nice touch, this way you can customise the type and amount of topping to your liking. I didn’t try the tempura bits but it looked quite crisp.

Come before 11.45 or else the queues may get quite long!

I asked for only meatballs and lean pork bc I don’t eat innards! Porridge was of a soupy, slightly starchy consistency, it was tasty but yet not very strongly flavoured which I didn’t mind. The lean pork was decently tender, but I preferred the marinated minced pork balls. Added an egg for $0.50, I always like eggs cracked into hot porridge as the egg gives additional flavour and richness.

The fish porridge my friend got is decent, with a generous amount of fish slices and slivers of ginger, just that the fish is not rly plump and has small bones, so I would recommend the pork porridge!

They serve the food to your table which is rly nice considering how elderly the stallowners are! Overall I was satisfied with my meal, but I don’t think that it’s something super memorable. Portion is small, and there’s no youtiao in the porridge. A simple, no-frills porridge stall - come support before they close for good end Oct!

This set comes with a 2 scones (+ butter, homemade strawberry preserve, and fresh cream) 2 finger sandwiches (one cheese; one cucumber), a butter cake, a a pot of tea. The scones were good - crunchy and craggly on the outside, insides were quite moist without being wet/gummy, not dry/floury at all. The crumb was quite cake-like. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy outers! We liked it best when paired with fresh cream + jam. The finger sandwiches were average, it’s simple and can be assembled at home. The butter cake was alright - I don’t usually go for such cakes, but it’s not horrible. It had a very classic, old-skool taste (buttery? greasy? but not very strongly-flavoured) with a moist and crumbly texture. Just that it was quite oily.

Fillings are all vv smooth and silky and light! Dark choc is nice and bittersweet but q rich and heaty. Sesame was v nice, nutty and a bit more salty and lighter than a typical bssm paste. Both were good but the sesame one was more outstanding to me! I did wish the tart crust was a little more buttery and crunchy, but it wasn’t soggy even after a few days, and was thin and easy to cut. Looking forward to trying other flavours!

Was a good bowl of mhk soup, perfect for the rainy day! The mhk pieces were THICC and plump and chewy - their mhk is more firm compared to ah yi (my fav mhk, at marsiling mall), but it’s still pretty nice. The soup is light but flavourful, and the ingredients are not bad too - mushrooms were huge and juicy, quite a bit of spinach, crunchy black fungus, minced meat, and ikan bilis. Was a satisfying lunch!
