This was LIT yall musttt try this if you visit chu & co!!!!! It is so damn delicious - filling is light and slightly fluffy with an earthy strong mushroom favour. Also loved the flaky pie crust which wasnât too buttery so it wasnât greasy and sinful. I usually prefer sweet > savoury but I think this savoury tart is my fav out of everything I've tried here :â)
The Gorgonzola's funky smell came through p strongly to me but it was rather pleasant and I enjoyed the stinky-ness đ The onions & apples gave a nice natural sweetness. Sourdough bun is a little on the dense side and a bit oily, so when we finished the filling it got a bit much.
I don't usually like lamb (except for Bakalakiâs lamb chops which were ridics good) but this pulled lamb & mint mayo sammie was p delicious.
I love how the mint brightened and herbed up the sandwich without feeling toothpastey; pulled lamb wasn't v gamey and rather moist despite being quite lean. The sourdough slices were toasted properly but not hard, was crunchy at the edges!! Their cheese is always good, melty and not too sharp/salty. Itâs a good sandwich!
I liked this! The toast was crisp outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Different from their crispy toast but still enjoyable. Their kaya is on the lumpier side and not rly my fav but I really do like the way they do their bread, tho I think I still prefer their crispy toast!
This was quite alright, toast was decently crisp, kaya didnât really make an impression. Although it was quite average, it still managed to satisfy the kaya toast craving!
Found this a little drier than usual - the bread is usually softer and more fluffy. Peanut butter was p fragrant, smooth and creamy, but I think I still prefer kaya butter - the butter adds a richness and some moistness that I prefer.
This toast was good too, itâs lightly crispy outside, but rather soft and fluffy inside. The kaya is great as usual, and again they give a lot of butter. Between the two, I prefer the French loaf, but give me this anytime and Iâll still happily eat it.
Ahhh this was super good. The French loaf had those nice crisp edges bc of the browned skin of the bread, which I absolutely enjoyed. The bread is more dense and substantial than regular toast so itâs actl quite filling. I like the Hainanese kaya here, itâs sweet and aromatic without being overly saccharine. Theyâre super generous with the butter here, perhaps a bit too much butter for my liking but I canât complain. The butter drips out when I bite into the bread anyway so itâs all cool. Come early for this! Once I arrived at 10+am on a weekday but it was too late, they had already sold out of this.
Cold Storage now offers freshly baked bread (not sure exactly how fresh, but definitely more fresh than the packaged bread on the shelves) and they are really cheap. At $3 a loaf on average, for even sourdough, Iâll be hard pressed to find a better deal, and their bread is actl pretty decent. Come early as they sell out by evening.
This ciabatta was vv moist but a bit too wet, tho not gummy. It sports a soft crust, and was fragrant from the herbs. The pumpkin flavour is not distinct, just a slight hint of it. Also thereâs some flaxseed and nuts that gives it some additional texture.
A decent rendition of ććŁè±, not bad but also not outstanding either. Could do with a little more wokhei, but glad they werenât stingy with the garlic.
This is also a skipz. Iâve been spoilt by the best black çȘèé from my dad, this canât compare. It was lacking in terms of heat (they didnât warm the serving pot, so it wasnât v hot when served) and acidity/sourness (vinegar was barely sour at all?). The meat was alright, thereâs a mix of lean meat and fatty parts, and the lean meat wasnât tough and dry. They could also have done with putting more ginger for flavour.
These were not bad, noodles were wet and slurpy, with a dark sauce that was flavourful and not too salty. Thereâs dried scallops and mushrooms as well. This was one of the dishes that was served piping hot (somehow most of the other dishes were warm at best), we enjoyed this!
