Had dinner at the newly opened Baste restaurant on Ann Siang Road! Helmed by Chef Chris of Hay Gelato and former restaurant Brine, the menu features Asian-style tapas with unique twists. The warm service and intimate dinner vibes were on point, albeit a mix of hits and slight misses for food.
One of our tableās favourites was this sous vide trout layered with pumpkin and shrimp emulsion, chopped salted egg, and topped with sea grapes, caviar and ikura. This leaned on the saltier side. I did think it was missing a little bit of a crunch to tie it all together, but the pumpkin element complemented especially nicely. Trout was also fresh and tender. Portion wise though, could be slightly bigger at this price tag.

Sanook offers pretty affordably priced Thai dishes, but we were quite disappointed by the flavours here in their Kallang Wave Mall outlet. This Pad Thai was one of the more decent ones, but a little too sweet. Our favorite dish amongst all that we had was the creamy Green Curry.
Havenāt had Gong Yuanās Ma La Tang in a while. Saw that they now offer to fry items complimentary, limited to selected items like the wanton and beancurd roll - just let them know at the cashier! We appreciated this new gesture as it gives you something crunchy amidst all the soup š On the other hand, was quite disappointed with the soup we were served with today though, it was super salty and thick, almost like a gravy ā¹ļø
Undoubtedly the most popular starter at Spago. Served in crisp cones, the fresh and refreshing tuna tartare have a kick of heat from the addition of wasabi and chili aioli. Was great to start off our meal with!

Only Yam is a fun yam chiffon cake dressed in piped carnation flowers, layered with yam paste, pudding, BreadTalkās signature light cheesecake and Chantilly cream cheese - the cheese parts are not super strong, but the chiffon is very soft!

Vegetarian pizzas that are eggless and alliums-free! Daily Green has been most known for its vegetarian zi char dishes, but has now introduced brand new pizzas in 4 different flavours - Margherita ($15.90), Rendang ($17.90), Hawaiian ($15.90) and Shroom ($15.90).
Each pizza is generously topped with its respective ingredients and had a pretty good base that was soft and chewy. Our favourite was the Margherita that had a well balanced tangy-sweet tomato base and savoury cheese. The Rendang half was a tad bit too oily, but will appeal flavour wise, to spice lovers. The chunks of mock meat on top had pretty good texture.

Pizza Hut is back with a new seasonal Assam Laksa Pizza, available from now till 15 May 2023. Youāll get to pick from a topping of Spicy Chicken Chunks or Marinated Prawns, on a tangy-spicy assam laksa sauce base with pineapples, onions, olives, chilli padi, lime and mint leaves. We got the chicken and was surprised by the amount of spicy here š Chicken chunks were tender and overall it was pretty appetising.
You can try this pizza in the Assam Laksa Sharing Box ($27.90) which includes 1 regular pan crust pizza, 4 pcs Honey Roasted Wings and 1 Garlic Bread, or order it a la carte from $34.90.
Despite a few undercooked strands, the Spanner Crab Bucatini was so lovely too. The al dente bucatini picked up the seafood-rich sauce in the best way possible, paired with a generous portion of sweet spanner crab meat and briny smoked trout roe. So good.
Loved our dinner at Cenzo! The Shellfish Risotto was wonderfully executed - full of smokiness, umami and an on point slight chewy texture on the grains. Prawns were nicely grilled as well. It was so flavour packed, but easy to keep going with its contrasting hint of heat.
Wanted to get the hot matcha latte but it was sold out, then saw this interesting option of Jelly Matcha Latte! It comes iced, with a pretty generous base of matcha jelly cubes. The cup was less filled than I liked, and the matcha latte itself wasnāt as smooth. It was pretty crowded and the kiosk only had one lady managing both the orders and the food preparation, so I think that might have affected the final drink. Will come back to try again!
Havenāt had Fu Lin Yong Tau Foo in an extremely long time. Didnāt know they opened a space in Suntec City! Went for the minimum of 6 pieces with thick bee hoon in the signature meat gravy, but thereās also the option for soup and various noodles. Both the ordering and preparation was fast. Appreciated how the ingredients were fresh and pretty big-sized each. My favourite ingredient was the fish paste you tiao!
