Tablescape’s new Afternoon Tea Set allows you to enjoy it dine-in or in the comfort of your own home. It features a refreshed menu of savoury and sweets that are delicately put together, such as Rosemary Apple Tart, Cheese Mousse in aĀ ā€œFlower Potā€, Foie Gras Kaya Brioche, and a selection of Scones with Homemade Jam, Clotted Cream and Homemade Butter. Our takeaway set also came with sachets of teas and coffee. We thought this was pretty worth the price tag!

Osmanthus mussels are unlike the usual mussels that we are more familiar with. They are softer with a bit of a chew and have an impressively light crunch. The earthiness from the matsutake mushrooms paired with Chinese yam, spring white asparagus, fresh lily bulb petals and their housemade truffle sauce was delicious.

This dish is part of the limited time Spring menu, available till 30 April 2023, with special discounted prices* on weekdays for Maybank Credit or Debit Cardmembers and PGR members.

Though the truffle fragrance was stronger than its flavour, we enjoyed how it allowed d the rest of the ingredients to shine better! They use a housemade truffle sauce to fry the rice, topped with sakura shrimps, chopped asparagus and diced fresh mushrooms. On top, there’s chunks of Boston lobster meat.

Limited time new dishes at Taste Paradise as they welcome the Spring season! This was our favourite dish of the night. It’s prepared in Szechuan style, with a gravy packing a comfortable level of heat and numbness. The fish fillets were tender and you’ll find springy potato vermicelli hidden underneath, that soaked up the broth so nicely!

Needed to spot to finish up some work and decided on the pretty new Equate Coffee! Their Matcha Lattes are available in 6oz, 8oz and iced. Was a pretty good and smooth cup that was not too milky, but just thought it was a tiny bit sweeter than I’d like at its default. You can top up a dollar to opt for oat or soy milk!

A spot that always has a long queue for lunch on the weekdays! Was my first time dining in and somehow it tasted better dining in than when taken away? šŸ˜‚ The soybean base broth was more robust than we remember. Prices have increased slightly but their ingredients are always fresh and portion is pretty substantial.

Ordered this from a new stall at Beauty World Food Centre, called 大马ē²æę”ę±¤. We had the mee tai mak as they were sold out of kway teow. Thought it was promising since they only sell this one dish, but it was unfortunately very disappointing ā˜¹ļø Broth was bland, the meats were pretty tough, and the fishballs and meatball were average too. Still on our search for good kway teow soups here!

All them Korean mochi donuts from DONAS 8, newly found at Market Blue in Tanglin Mall! These are Korean chapssal donuts (sweet glutinous rice donuts) that come in either a cream cheese or red bean filling, with flavours such as original, injeolmi, matcha, cocoa, strawberry, etc.

A pity we didn’t get to dig into them right away, so that affected the texture quite hugely. Think they would do much better if you have them freshly hot - we learnt after that from the team that the tip is to freeze them when you’re home, and air fry them at 180 degrees for 5 mins when you’re ready to have them.

FLUFFY SOFT KAKIGORI. Sakanoue Cafe that’s based in Tokyo, is here at Isetan Scotts’ supermarket for a pop-up! They’re serving their range of kakigori in various flavours on rotation - think flavours like Matcha, Blue Cheese & Sweet Bean, Pistachio Raspberries and more.

Yay, we went by early yesterday to try this and loved it. The carefully packed ice was super fluffy soft, all paired with sweet strawberry syrup, milk syrup, fresh cream espuma and bits of freeze-dried strawberries that I wished there was more of, considering the price tag.

Tried So Ramen’s Flaming Lobster Seafood Poached Rice and it was better than we expected - base was a seafood tonkotsu broth, topped with a couple types of seafood, crisped puff rice, and half a lobster with mentaiko and cheese that’s torched. Appreciated how the soup was kept hot throughout in the stone pot. Available till end of March, with limited bowls daily.

Seafood charcoal BBQ buffet with a sea view! Their selection includes marinated meats, seafood, vegetables skewers, pre-assembled mini shabu shabu that were easily heat up over the grill, and more. Food was pretty fresh, with a mix of hits and misses. Highlights for us are their Thai moo ping skewers and Tom Yum shabu. Offshore Bar & Grill sits at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal so it’s a bit more out of the way. Best to drive over!

Le Matin Patisserie’s new concept cafe, A New Dawn, officially opened today at ION Orchard! It has Le Matin’s biggest menu launch thus far, including Cakes and Pastries, Sweets and Savoury, Brunch, and Dinner and Dessert. Prices are definitely on the steep end.

This Chutoro Brioche FeuilletĆ©e is from the Brunch menu, and is served with a side house salad. It’s a pricey piece, but also a crowd favourite among what we had. It has very chunky shoyu-cured chutoro sandwiched with sea urchin butter, edamame mash, yuzu wasabi mayo and pickled red onions for the extra acidity to cut through the richness. It was rich and fatty in a good way, though we were hoping for a stronger kick from the yuzu wasabi mayo to contrast.
