Triple decker pancakes ~ 3 stacks of homemade pancakes, drizzled with strawberry sauce and topped with a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream. So fluffy until I cannot maintain!
Most of the food here seems to be priced well below that of many cafés. Which makes it a nice place to hang out at with friends if you're watching your spending. This plate of 3 thick pancakes cost $6 and was of average taste and quality. The coffee's good though and the friendly service would make anyone feel welcome.
Softly chunky but not too liquidy is how I'd describe the eggs. And the sprinkle of salt in there manages to excite my palette just that bit more. The Norwegian smoked salmon is fine but it's the small touches by the chef, such as the melted cheese on a tomato half and toasted ciabatta instead of mundane bread slices, that make me a happy customer.
I still find it hard to believe that this costs only $11.50 nett. Going by the moniker "The Ultimate Combo", it's an all-day breakfast item that includes a double dose of pancake, egg, pork bacon and chicken chipolata sausage. Admittedly, the pancakes can't compete with Strictly Pancakes'. Nevertheless this is worth a try for those with big appetites.

Ordered the American breakfast, pancakes stack with gelato, gelato waffles as well as truffle fries. Hmm, only the truffle fries stood out. The rest was pretty mediocre but however, for the prices that we paid, it was quite reasonable. Pancakes were fluffy but tasteless, meh. And the pink sauce didn't make it any better. BUT the ice cream did some saving tbh. Waffles was just normal. The breakfast would be better if they have some mushrooms as well as artisan bread instead of those sliced bread from bread loaves in NTUC 🙊🙊 coffee was good, and I heard from a friend after, saying he was some award winning barista, no wonder the coffee was good.....
The steak was done well, tender and delicious. I think it was only about 8 bucks.. oh yeah, good deal.

Crisp Ciabatta bread that's filled with a generous amount of Pulled Pork filling that was tender and tasty with its homemade sauce that seemed to hinted of BBQ and tomato-based sauce. Love the chips; that sharp hint of pepper definitely hit on me!
Kampong Bahru is a place known for the various hipster cafés that are situated around the area, which makes this simple classically themed cafe that is opened by the same owners as Freshly Baked by Le Bijoux look underrated. Look past the decor however and you are actually in for some satisfying grub that's all without being hipster. Go for the sandwiches; something Freshly Baked is known for. If not, go for their mains and all-day breakfast that are new offerings not available in their sister cafe at Killiney. There are also various cakes and donuts available, which makes for good snacks be it after a meal or just a takeaway quick bite.
Order the large portion and you'll get this big bowl of soup with lots of ingredients such as prawns, fishballs, pork slices etc. At $5.50 it's really value for money and it tastes great!
