Was SO excited to chance upon this place because it’s so rare to see non dairy drink options at such affordable prices!! The tea latte is amazing, the homemade cashew milk was so creamy and the flavours were perfectly balanced. 10/10 would recommend and I see myself coming here very often :)

Had pretty high expectations but I felt like the pancakes could be a lot fluffier. They were a little dense so I realised most tables couldn’t finish their stack. The chocolate melts when you pour maple butter over it tho so that was really nice.

The fried chicken was really good!! The batter was so tasty and the chicken was really tender and juicy. The waffles were underwhelming though - not particularly crisp or fluffy.

This bagel is topped with a spring onion schmear and smoked salmon, and finished off with capers. They were generous with the smoked salmon but if I’m being critical, it’s just the smoked salmon you can buy from ntuc, nothjng wrong with that just nothing to shout about. The real issue is with the bagel itself - I know they’re supposed to have a chew but these were a little too hard. I expected more from a bagel specialty shop.

Hidden gem in Far East plaza - I love this place so much that I was tempted not to share the location. It’s a pretty understated place but the quality is amazing and it has quickly become one of my go-to places for affordable food in town. The prawns are live and sourced daily, so they’re Super fresh and usually a little bigger than this!!! If you’re into bayou (pork lard), this white bee Hoon will be right up your alley.

I live in Serangoon and would travel to Jurong Point (aka other end of the world) for this place!! That ginger and spring onion sauce is to die for with the bbq meats. Also great that the food is served so quickly!!

This may sound like a strange combination, but is actually pretty common in Thailand. Note that it’s not salted egg yolk but just normal egg yolk, so it doesn’t add any saltiness. The egg yolk is added half cooked and churned together with the coconut ice cream so it’s frozen too. It’s easy to understand why the Thais like this: the egg yolk adds a richness to the refreshing and otherwise light coconut ice cream, and the pairing of the two tasted so intuitive despite my initial reservations.

I’m a huge pad Thai fan because I love that sweetish flavour profile but if you’re not a fan of that, this might be a little sweet for you. Otherwise, I thought the pad Thai had an ideal ‘wetness’ and was very tasty (the flavours were strong). Make sure to have it while it’s hot cause when it cools down, it hardens significantly.

From seafood pad Thai to coconut egg yolk ice cream, Siamese Cat is a Thai cafe that serves up authentic and affordable Thai food. Siamese Cat was actually Tuk Tuk Cha, but the outlets at Novena and Suntec have been changed to SC. The menu is otherwise almost exactly the same.

This was pretty good, it was expensive but I guess chai lattes at most cafes are. I feel like the spice could be stronger, but this is a chai worth trying

Omg game changer this was THE BEST thing I had here and that’s a lot seeing that most of the dishes were so good. The brioche was so fluffy and butter-enriched it was almost like a croissant, and the nori butter was so umami and perfectly salty and silky on the brioche.

Been seeing this dish on Instagram and have been wanting to try The Masses for forever cause of burpple’s recommendation, and so happy to say I wasn’t disappointed at all!!
The dish was refreshing, umami, and balanced. It was tasty without being too heavy.
