What do you look for in a Nasi Lemak? If chilli, Latiffa Huri hits the right spot. The Ikan kuning was quite nicely fried and did not taste dry. I felt that rice could do with a stronger coconut taste but overall, still a good and very reasonably priced Nasi Lemak. My mom really enjoyed the lontong which had a generous amount of rice cakes! Paid slightly more than 5 bucks for these two plates. I totally forgot to add the Otah in my hastiness to eat breakfast and the chicken wings were not ready at 8am. Will return again to try those.

Decided to give this a shot again, and this time the chicken wings were ready. I must say it looked quite dry but the chicken was quite nicely fried, didn’t taste dry at all. Sambal was still shiok and they were quite generous with it. I like the Sambal goreng, the fermented beans was not easy to chew, unlike many other stalls that have it too hard. I will be back to try the otah!

Enaq is THE HIDDEN GEM of Jurong East. I absolutely love the cosy space and as the title suggests, the mushroom cheese prata. Crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. Which prata around comes with chili and curry? ENAQ does!

Poon Kee makes very decent wanton mee. I usually only go for places with thick char siew but I really like the way the sauce blends with the noodles here. Personal preference is wanton mee with just a little chilli. I order the wanton horfun at times too. The wanton is not too big but still substantial and nicely wrapped. The char siew though thin, is not dry.

Fishball & mee pok was soft and easy to eat. Had mine with a little chilli and the whole bowl came together well and was very light on the palate. Nothing fancy but a solid bowl for a good morning breakfast. Will be back to explore more of this sleepy neighbourhood.

PS Pandan Gardens is not exactly Jurong but so near so Jurong Territory also okay! Lol

Al Afrose has one of the most consistent Maggie goreng around. I like this cause it’s the dry type, not too spicy and i asked for onions to be removed but it’s still as tasty. My friends usually ask for a higher spiciness level.

This thin somen is my favourite dish of the night. Love the texture of the somen and especially in love with the crispy Sakura Ebi. The 5 of us polished the whole dish off in a matter of probably minutes or was it seconds?! It’ll be great if they could serve the ebi as a side dish, it’s the addictive type!

Basically assorted seafood with porridge. Porridge wise it’s the kind that’s not mushy but you can taste the rice grain by grain. It’s not super out of the world but I like the flavourful (slightly sweet) soup.

I would only order this if we came in a bigger group and if it’s a cold day cause it does feel rather comforting for the stomach.

Someone’s gotta give non entree a run for their money simply for the effort taken to gel the complexity of the flavours. Jam with a hint of sambal, the ‘kuning fish’ tastes like a really really thin piece of shallot and the egg which is yogurt, were among my favorites. It is not cheap (most desserts are priced around 12 to 15 but you really have to give some credit to the creation of desserts. Brilliant masterpieces and I will return to support.
