Springleaf has completely won me over. They serve beehoon goreng in the morning!!!!!! Most other places will only serve this at noon so it was a pleasant surprise when they took in my order. I also really love the consistency of the prata here, it is always so good. I love the texture of their prata so much, it’s chewy yet crispy on the outside. Take your own curry at the self service area. I love springleaf, pls stay in this hood.

Do a quick google on this place - even though the name suggests speciality in curry but most reviews excluded the curry 😂 i ordered the salmon mentai as recommended and regretted not taking the larger bowl. This featured mango with ebi was rather delicious too. Also tried to the spicy tofu which was true to its name, a little too much for me but I loved the crisp of the tofu skin. The batter for the fried chicken was light and right for me. No doubt, I would return again. Brilliant little spot here at fortune centre.

Lai Seng is my to go stall for CCF. It’s beside the popular kopi stall (in the corner) in the row facing the car park. For two pieces, this goes at $1.80. With sesame and sauce used, this CCF is smooth and fragrant. Skip the chili sauce unless you really need it. Lai Seng has morning beehoon that is pretty good as well but their side dishes are quite mediocre. The uncle and aunty at the stall are quite friendly so that’s a bonus. Nuff said, get the CCF!

For decent Japanese food chain, itacho is my top choice. I absolutely love this lobster salmon roll, the proportion of lobster, salmon and rice is just right for me. The lobster salad complements the salmon well. The whole taste a party in your mouth, whilst not being too overwhelming. I could eat 8 of these at One go. A pity the cheaper sushi (60 cents salmon) always gets sold out by dinner. 😩 itacho, more portions of that pls!

I was seriously at a dilemma at tapas club because the dishes all look good. Settled mostly for the recommended dishes (which pretty much were all above average!) and this churros here was something that every table ordered. It came warm and was chewy enough inside. Definitely good enough to end the meal. For affordable prices and relatively good food, tapas club is the one of the best places around town. We paid around 150 for 3 tapas, one paella, one chicken cutlet, one cider and two sangria. They gave a complimentary cake for my friend who’s celebrating her birthday.

Tiong Hoe’s tagline is better coffee and that was what they delivered. Loved that the coffee was served in a cup made from local potter Stella Tan.

Even though summerhill prides itself for its signature roast chicken, this pork collar was the winning factor for me. I love the tenderness of the pork collar and the lightness of the coleslaw complemented the dish well! Roast chicken was okay but I ate at cocotte previously, and felt like the roast chicken could be more tender. I will return for the pork collar and maybe to try the fried chicken if available.

This Lala noodles was a bit too spicy for me with the chili padi that can kill you silently but still quite shiok in a way (if you get what I mean). I liked the kang Kong here the most and my friend enjoyed the Tom Yum which was slightly on the sweet side, as compared to the usual more sour taste. Maybe don’t order the chicken ball with soft bone (even though it looks cute on the menu) because it’s quite meh unless you like soft bone.

Overall, I think the prices are reasonable considering it’s town area, would return again to try the other dishes if I’m around the area.

It’s been quite some time ago since I’ve visited Sunday folks but I must say that I still love the earl grey lavender here. It’s much better for me as compared to the sea salt flavor, which I find much heavier.

Was pleasantly surprised to find a Teochew restaurant in the heartlands. I felt that this dish was okay when paired with rice but mom and bf felt that it was a little salty. We also had our fish done two ways - stir-fry with veg and the other with yam in soup. Both dishes were pretty homely to me. In all, we paid about 120 plus for 4 dishes cause the fish was already 80. Would return again with family because I like the cosy environment and it’s hard to find such spots for family dinners in the neighbourhood.

Had a super strong craving for bee hoon goreng and viola, just realised springleaf opened at the basement of Jcube 💃🏻 this came with no onions (haha just the way I like it) it’s not too dry not too soggy, the right texture for me, not spicy as well! Will return to try the rest of the menu!
