Tomi Sushiās been on my radar for quite some time and Iāve always wanted to go for the lunch sets. I canāt say that this way bad but I just felt this chirashi set lunch was rather okay, nothing stood out in particular. Paid about 29 for the whole lunch set including GST, which included quite a big miso soup as well as chawanmushi.
Xiu Ji has two shops side by side, one of which you can see them making the YTF fresh, stuffing it with fish paste.
3 things I really love - the light soup, the Ikan bills that goes really well the bee hoon and each YTF piece handmade with love. Probably queued about 25 mins for this but totally worth it, not to mention that itās 3 bucks only!
Probably one of the better stalls at this hipster coffee shop. Pork cheeks so tender that it melts in your mouth. Love that it came with an onsen egg too! Canāt find fault with this, worth the 12 bucks Iād pay for a TGIF lunch!āš»
Classified this under Asian favs cause this is clearly the way we like our hawker western food done. Peter Panās not the most fabulous in terms of the best sauce or most tender chicken but it does a fair job and at 6 bucks, it does bring a great deal of satisfaction. I personally love it cause fries are traded for wedges, thatās the winning ticket for me.
I love the omelette here. I had it with prawns. This is one of the omelettes that Iāve had thatās closer to the ones in Thailand, fluffy enough but youāre probably consuming 4/5 eggs so watch the cholesterol levels. The other dishes were so-so. Tom Yam Soup was a bit too sour, the honey chicken had too much skin, kang kong was nice but tasted a little too sweet!
I would love love love to return for the omelette though. Paid around 30 bucks for the 4 dishes, rice and 2 thai ice tea.
No location tag for Hansa Thai but this omelette is really yum. I think I made my point š
Punch has the usual items with a slight twist on its menu, like this earl grey pancakes. We had this as a shared ādessertā cause we all got our own mains. The earl grey taste was stronger for my first few bites but kinda lost it after that, but perhaps cause I was kinda eating a little of everything and the other flavours overwhelmed the earl grey taste. Other wise, love the busy brunch vibes here, will return again for the cheese toast!
Heard itās always packed during lunch time, for a very good reason i guess :) This tuna is seared right in front of us and it felt so good just witnessing the whole process. I love the tuna fillet too, batter was not too overwhelming. For premium tuna, this is the to-go place!
Canāt believe itās my first time trying this, what took me so long. Love the fuss free experience here, food was served fast and the portions given was really good. I had the burramudi burrito bowl with guacamole by the side šš»
Love the side dishes here. BBQās not the best Iāve had but good enough to end Sunday with a bang āš»
Iāve never been a fan of tempura till Iāve tried a very random tempura vegetable in Koya (London) which has a very light batter which I have never had anything similar in Sg.
Nonetheless, Tempura Kohaku can hold its own ground because the batter is much better than the average tempura in Sg. I think people probably like it cause of the generosity of the ingredients and it doesnāt have any of the vegetables (like ladyās fingers and brinjal) which in my opinion, many do not eat. Quite enjoyed the mix grain which was rather flavorful too. Plus I didnāt have to queue for this so i guess, it is worth it considering it didnāt come with a hefty price tag.
Somen with whiskey is a must order. Texture is like mee sua and I really like how the lightness of this complements the yakitori. I would totally come back for this, Iām a total somen convert. Somen over soba, udon, ramen and whatsoever.
This prata is not too crispy but rather chewy, thought the texture was quite good in any case. Their default curry is the one with mutton but we got the fish curry and thought it tasted better. In any case, my (not so) guilty pleasure is still prata with sugar š
