My first time having quail. Texture tastes like very much like chicken but it’s a bit more difficult to eat it, cause of the short wings. The caramalised vegetables and purée went very well with the tender quail and made the dish very flavorful.
A new take on spring roll. The laksa noodles can be distinctly tasted together and there were slices of chicken in the spring roll as well. Spring roll skin was relatively thin and crispy. Another great appetizer to start the meal!
Been an avid follower of Veronica Phua and she highly recommends Spago. I can totally see why, every dish was so on point and I liked that they offered quite a variety of dishes for lunch. I chose this tuna tartare for my appetizers. The external crust was so crispy and went very well with the well marinated tartare. Great start to the meal!
I am making return visits to Thevar. I felt that every dish is made with so much thought. The flavours were generally rich but each dish was so distinct from the other.
This chicken roti is packed with so much filling and the sauce that accompanied was rich but not overwhelming cause it was a small bite. I enjoyed all dishes that we ordered including the oysters, the button mushroom naan, the eggplant, croquettes, sri Lanka curry crab rice and chempedak (puff with light cream inside) Overall a fantastic meal! We paid 169 for 2.
Truffle taste was distinct in the soup of the XLB. The skin was thin yet firm enough to hold the filling and soup. Enjoyed this dish and I would order this again. I’ve been to this CJ branch a few times and I do enjoy the different options which have more subtle flavours.
Took me a gazillion years to come here for lunch and definitely won’t be the last. The lunch sets are so value for money and def a great place to go along the orchard stretch. The meat were all well marinated, the Yakitori came out very nicely grilled. I would 💯 return for another meal.
Back at flagwhite for a late lunch! Chicken Parmigiana was juicy, topped with cheese and some tomato-ish tangy kind of sauce. Tater tots was as usual a generous portion for 6 bucks! Flag white’s fast becoming my fav cafe in the area! They are available on grabfood too.
The lu rou fan was a good portion. The minced pork was tasty without being too salty or feeling oily. Hubby liked his mee sua too and mentioned that the chilli really packs a punch. Glad we chanced upon this casual eatery!
One for one donburis for lunch via some telegram promo. I had the jewel chirashi which had a good mix of seafood. Also tried char siew grilled unagi which was interesting some char siew flavor. The char siew flavor filled more like it was just grazed to the unagi rather than ‘infused’ in it. Not too sure what the restaurant was going for. Either way, a worth it bowl for TGIF lunch!
I love the omelette here. I had it with prawns. This is one of the omelettes that I’ve had that’s closer to the ones in Thailand, fluffy enough but you’re probably consuming 4/5 eggs so watch the cholesterol levels. The other dishes were so-so. Tom Yam Soup was a bit too sour, the honey chicken had too much skin, kang kong was nice but tasted a little too sweet!
I would love love love to return for the omelette though. Paid around 30 bucks for the 4 dishes, rice and 2 thai ice tea.
No location tag for Hansa Thai but this omelette is really yum. I think I made my point 😆
This Lala noodles was a bit too spicy for me with the chili padi that can kill you silently but still quite shiok in a way (if you get what I mean). I liked the kang Kong here the most and my friend enjoyed the Tom Yum which was slightly on the sweet side, as compared to the usual more sour taste. Maybe don’t order the chicken ball with soft bone (even though it looks cute on the menu) because it’s quite meh unless you like soft bone.
Overall, I think the prices are reasonable considering it’s town area, would return again to try the other dishes if I’m around the area.
I’ve always been a ‘leafy vegetable’ person but my friend convinced me to try this and it was surprisingly good. Texture was on the crunchier side but still easy enough to eat. My friend commented that today’s was spicier than usual, we spotted quite a bit of chilli padi, do request if you can’t take the spiciness! Overall, a great neighborhood find, I also enjoyed my crab meat fried rice which was more on the sweet side.
