Visited @breakfasthola and we had their pancake with luncheon meat and cheese, lu rou fan and their milk teas. My favourite item was the pancake which was stuffed generously with ingredients. The lu rou fan was tasty too and I liked how they added a runny egg to it instead of a hard boiled one. I liked the milk tea as well along with how it wasn't too sweet! Can't wait to try other items during my next visit 🤤
Tried The Landing Point's afternoon tea last year and it was a nice place to have tea at. Though there were hits and misses for both the savouries and the sweetd, the portions were generous for the price point. The sets were very pretty and the sweets fared better than the savoury items for this menu (though some items were too sweet for my liking). We got @chopesg vouchers for this and it was 30% off which made it a good deal too!
@dtccsg Vivocity reopened recently after a revamp and they are back with their Christmas dishes 🎄☃️
We had the Slow Cooked Australian Beef Rib and Turkey Parmigiana with their Gingerbread Latte and Christmas Sangria. The beef was very tender, served with dark chocolate sauce infused with orange, I was skeptical about it at first but the sauce wasn't sweet so they went surprisingly well together! The turkey was served with cheese and mushroom sauce along with some pasta. It was quite tasty and the meat wasn't dry as well. I had the Gingerbread Latte and felt that the coffee was too strong that it covered the gingerbread flavour, it was still a pretty decent cup of coffee!
To end off our meal, we had some of their cakes for dessert. The flourless chocolate cake was rich and balanced with a bit of raspberry to add some tangy flavour. The strawberry cheesecake had nicely balanced flavours in the mousse too but I would like it if there was more sponge cake because it got a bit much after a while 😅
Thank you @dtccsg for inviting and hosting us! ☺️
@delicatesse.sg serves a variety of cakes that look simple but taste good. We had the raspberry choux puff, matcha mont blanc and chocolate cake. My favourite was the chocolate cake which had a rich chocolate flavour and a crunchy layer in it too. Overall their desserts are not too sweet and they go well with the floral botanic garden tea!
@gamo.sg is a cosy cafe nestled in Bras Basah Complex serving drinks, pastries and desserts. I liked the Hazelnut Royaltine which was rich and had crispy bits in it too! They serve a variety of other pastries such as the recently popular croons but I'm not a fan of croons so I can't really comment much 😅
@meokjasg is a Muslim-owned establishment serving Korean Chinese food in @gridsingapore. We ordered quite a bit there and had jjajangmyeon, jjampong, bibim guksu (cold noodles), tangsuyuk and kimbap! my favourite dish was the bibim guksu because it was cold spicy and refreshing at the same time. Overall, the food was rather decent but it didn't really live up to the hype perhaps because they're a relatively new establishment and recently scaled up their operations from a home based business. The prices are affordable though so I think it's still worth a try! ☺️
@charcoalfishheadsteamboat serves affordable fish steamboat sets and other dishes too! The steamboat we had had flavourful broth and I liked how we could add extra ingredients to it such as beancurd skin and yam. The tze char dishes were good as well, we had cereal prawns, seafood yam ring and chicken wings. The dishes were crispy when required and portions were larger than expected too 😋 Worth a try but they get booked up on weekends so making a reservation would be recommended.
We had Torta della Nonna and "Biscotti" for dessert, both nutty desserts that we enjoyed too! 😋
For pastas we had the Cappellacci di Zucca Ferraresi con Burro e Salvia, which was unique and I liked the butter and sage flavours, and the Rigatoni Lisci con Sugo alla Norma which was more simple but the flavours were good too.
Visited the highly raved @forma.sg after many months of waiting and attempting to book a table. For antipasti, we had Culatello con Gnocco Fritto which were crispy with both the sweet and savoury balanced nicely.
@natter.sg is a fairly new waffles and ice cream joint that offers hojicha waffles, croffles and classic waffles along with a variety of gelato flavours. I liked how the waffles were crispy outside and rather light inside and the hojicha one had a rich hojicha flavour too. Some of gelato flavours (those with 2 flavours in one) did not really deliver as described but they had a smooth creamy texture and went well with the waffles too!
You can always count on @sabotensg for good tonkatsu 😋 I especially liked the cheese filled ones, if only they had a set with all cheese instead of half half!
