A heap of thick cuts of 24 hour sous-vide cooked wagyu beef and an onsen egg on top of a bed japanese rice which I will never get sick of. The meat was full off flavour with the right amount of smokiness (if that is even a word 😅). Mix in together with the rice, onsen egg and a touch of wasabi, one will be in umami heaven 😋. Will always be my to go place for TGIF lunches.

The idea of soft boil eggs in donut shaped beef patty works! The runny texture of the egg mixed with the juicy patty, topped with crispy bacon and melted cheese in between toasted buns is quite heavenly 😋 the accompanying paprika fries were light and crispy as well. If only the patty would be less seasoned with herbs and off the grill a few minutes earlier, it would have been a perfect burger. Best to have it for dinner with a couple of beers.

First time trying Grade A3 Wagyu. The fat to meat ratio was perfect! The umami flavour of the steak melts in the mouth. One has to try at least once to fully savour the deliciousness of the dish.

Tuck in the square of Robertson Walk, this quaint trattoria has the homey Italian vibe. Foodwise, this meat lover's pizza is worth the wait during peak hours. Every bite was a mouthful of italian sausage, salami, mortadella and beef bolognese; while the pizza crust was thin and crispy.
PS: Pair it with their Borgo Sanleo Chianti for the full Italian experience and finish with in-house made pistachio gelato

Handsdown, the best truffle fries ever! Fries consistently crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Drizzled, not showered with a generous amount of truffle oil and parmesan cheese. Wash it down with a cup of milkshake. This is what cheat day is all about :)

One of the best foods to have on a rainy Saturday. The piping hot, chewy texture of the dopokki together with the tender chicken bits, mixed will the cheese and spicy sauce was heavenly. Best paired with hot rice and some beer 😋😋

The eggs were really 'silky'! I love how it mixes so well with the rice and gravy. I think I would be happy to have just the rice, eggs and gravy, but the meats were tender and flavorful too. Could do with more meat though. Nonetheless, a satisfying meal :) will be back to try other items on the menu.

What I love about this dish is that the meat is solid! And with the gochujang sauce slathered over it, it was a delicious meal to go with the makgeolli though I think beer would be a better choice for this dish. I hear their bibimbap promotion for lunch is a good deal. Too bad I don't work nearby if not it would be one of my fave lunch spots.

Scrambled eggs on toast is one of the best breakfast to have when you wake up hungry in the morning 😄

Sumiya's set lunch is one of the best in town. Ranging from SGD18.80 to SGD38.80, one will get a don, miso soup, chawanmushi, a side of salad and dessert. I went for the Anago Don (SGD 20.80) (conger eel) and it did not disappoint. I like that they used minimal seasoning on the eel and sauce on the rice, so that one can taste the richness of the fish. The accompanying chawanmushi and miso soup complements the main dish well and the mochi dessert made it a very happy ending. Not to mention, at 12th floor of Orchard Central one can get dining with a view too! 😄

Decided to escape the heat of the day with a cup of coffee at The Providore. Love the glasshouse setting of this place, allowing sunlight in to make it bright and seem spacious. Nice place to catch up with friends or the book that one has been eyeing to finish reading

One of the best Tendon in town. A generous portion of tempura (chicken breast, prawns, squid, fish, mushroom, baby corn and long beans; quite a mouthful eh?) on a bed of fluffy Hokkaido rice. Went for the spicy version which I loved :) Come early to beat the queue as we left at about 6pm and there was already quite a long one, maybe due to the small space.
