From 3-930pm daily, there's a 1 for 1 Viet Noodles promo at COMNAM. Tried the Spicy Beef Noodles & the Pork Rib Kimchi Brown Rice Bowl. Felt that the chilli oil from the Spicy Beef was a little over the top & kinda overwhelmed the flavour of the soup. Thank God the soft, tender beef compensated for it. The Pork Rib Rice Bowl totally lacked any taste of kimchi and was just alright overall. Would pick the classic Beef Pho at Nam Nam over these any day!

Grilled Pork Chop was pretty decent but seemed to have lacked lemongrass flavours to invoke that Viet flavour, while the pickled vegetables were juicy and crunchy and served as a refreshing side. Fried egg flowed when poked through, revealing the pretty yolk within. Pretty simple yet satiating.

Opened till late, Long Phung is a popular go-to place for late post-work dinners, or a different kind of supper grub. Enjoy a classic chicken or beef pho, crispy fried spring rolls, a refreshing bowl of grilled pork with vermicelli, or garlic cockles. If you love spice, don't miss their Spicy Beef Stew Noodle Soup — it's so darn satisfying. It can get crowded, especially during meal times, so expect queues! For a really tasty, affordable Vietnamese fare at under $10, it's well worth the wait.

Mac & Cheese lovers rejoice! Yet another overpriced rendition for you to get your grubby paws on. Careful not to scald your mittens on the scorching hot dishware though, as I learned the hard way. I was suitably excited as this arrived literally bubbling hot(you could see the burnished brown top layer of cheese pockmarked by pockets of heated air escaping to the surface). My approval increased as I dug into and scooped out a portionful of stringy, gooey cheese that trailed delightfully from spoon to bowl. Velvety, creamy and stretchy, it ticked off all the right boxes in terms of texture. HOWEVER, the taste of cheese was barely noticeable! A good dose of blue cheese or aged cheddar would have made this a sure winner in my books.

Thicker-than-thick slabs of assorted aburi fish for less than $35? #shutupandtakemymoney I absolutely loved how the smokiness didn't mask the freshness of the fish, but accentuated their natural sweetness even more. Beyond being a stomach filler, the tasty rice grains were very well seasoned and perfectly al dente, upping the pleasure with bursts of ikura. You can't put a price on such satisfaction.

Fresh seafood, authentic Japanese cuisine, counter seating... I think I found a new favourite Japanese restaurant at Ngee Ann City.

During lunch hours, Wang Dae Bak is heavily packed! However their service are quick & attentive. We order Rice Cakes, Army Stew, Seafood Pancake, Spicy Tofu Seafood Stew, Pork Ribs Stew, Ginseng Chicken Soup & Spicy Beef Soup! This were food for 7 people! Their banchan (side dishes) are really delicious to start with, especially their fish cakes, egg, mashed potatoes! Refillable of course! 😉 Not forgetting they've Febreeze at the counter for you to spray over your clothes due to the food smell.
