Ondeh ondeh softserve from Moosh is great for a hot day, although the ice cream melts pretty fast so you gotta eat this quick. The green sauce (pandan probably) and coconut flakes together with the hint of gula melaka from the soft serve really replicated the ondeh ondeh flavour quite well. I think the $6 portion is a bit much for just one flavour, so it might be better to get more of the smaller $4 portion and have more variety.
School’s out, and the summer holidays are here! Pigged out on a plate of har cheong gai fried to perfection from @ahtanwings at Yishun Park Hawker Centre. Loved the crispy exterior, and how the prawn paste was fragrant yet not too overpowering when eating it. Definitely not too jelat, and you will definitely want to down a few of these!
The ‘Flaming Hokkaido Beef Bowl’ literally lives up to its name - the beef slices are torched live in front of you right before it is served. Portion isn’t that big, but the beef slices were tender. However, make sure to mix the bowl well, or you’ll end up with a mouthful full of mayo or alcohol like what happened to me.
The dry prawn noodles from Noo Cheng Adam Road Big Prawn Mee is worth queuing a bit for! The broth is super solid, and the noodles with their chilli has a great kick. Their prawns were quite fresh, and the pork belly slices had a nice chewy texture. Pretty much always has a long queue during lunch period, although it isn’t as crowded in the evenings!
So lucky to be able to try fugu sashimi at this two day event held at Ushidoki! Given all the hype surrounding it due to its difficult preparation, it tasted pretty normal although it had quite a nice chewy texture. However, even that might not be for everybody. The skin of the puffer fish apparently is really good for you and has lots of collagen.
Finally got to try this instagram-worthy cake that tastes as good as it looks! The cake was moist and spongy, while the salted egg glaze added just a touch of savouriness which really brought out the flavour of the whole cake. Would have preferred if the salted egg flavour was a little stronger, but really not a bad attempt at melding the two flavours together!

Famous hakka yong tau fu from Ghim Moh market - the long queues are worth the wait; their homemade yong tau fu along with their chilli and sauce combo makes for an excellent lunch! Be sure to order more pieces because they will go quick (if you’re sharing) and you wouldn’t want to queue again.
Really simple with but three main components, this dish turned out to be one of my favourites of the night. The chilled pasta was cooked perfectly - it had such a great bite to it and was just of the right consistency. The flavours of the konbu and truffle oil complimented each other really well, and each bite was just amazing. Great as a starter to share, or even as a pasta dish for yourself!
This was filled to the brim with premium ingredients - uni, caviar, wagyu beef, and foie gras, which made for a very rich and indulgent meal. However, given the steep price, I felt that this wasn’t really worth it, and the money would be better spent on their steak offerings where you get a much premium grade of beef.
At $2.50 per pop, these scallops are not the cheapest item on the menu but are pretty worth it if you ask me. Each scallop is topped generously with spring onion, chilli and garlic, ensuring that each bite is super satisfying and full of flavour. It is surprisingly not too spicy despite how red it looks, and the chilli is there more for flavour.
Plain tofu topped with a pretty generous amount of century egg and a lift soy sauce. This was kind of a let down, and while it was not bad, it wasn’t particularly great either. The portion is quite generous for $8, and is quite light which helps balance out the other heavy items.
