Personally am a fan of pigs intestines so I was pretty excited to try this. However, we were slightly let down as the pig intestines had a pretty strong smell which could put many people off and made it hard to stomach. Flavour-wise, the mala spice and crispy batter was pretty good, although it all became overpowered by the strong smell of the intestines. This may be a hit and miss, since a friend who had eaten this before at this place said that it did not have such a strong odour the previous time.
For real, authentic, Chinese cuisine, Good Come Again (ć„œćæ„) has a pretty wide variety of dishes to choose from. Some of the flavours and foods may be a bit more intense or âout thereâ for our Singaporean taste buds, but their skewers are a good place to start! From the safer choices and mutton, bacon and mushroom, and squid, to more âexoticâ choices and pig stomach and chicken hearts, thereâs bound to be something for everyone. The skewers are all coated in a similar marinade, so it really boils down to which kinds of meat you prefer. The mutton and bacon with mushroom were really good! Especially the mutton, which didnât have a strong gamey smell. Their other big main dishes werenât particularly spectacular, so I would stick to the skewers next time.
The crispy iberico pork belly was somehow fried to a crisp, yet still tender and melts in your mouth. It was paired with a chilli-hoisin sauce that was almost like a sambal and complimented the pork really well. However, it was a tad salty, so just a bit would suffice! The crackling was the best part - it was so crispy and super shiok! Great for sharing, and definitely get the larger portion cause they will be snapped up quickly.
Zi char from Old Place Seafood Taiwan Porridge (now located at 59 Joo Chiat Place) - dishes are super affordable, and each plate is served at lightning speed directly from the kitchen to your table. Pictured is the fried pork, which is definitely one of the must-haves at this place! Super tender, with a good amount of fat that makes each bite super addictive. Other highlights include their chai poh omelette and har cheong gai!
The tuna steak was really good in my opinion! The tuna was cooked really well, and retained a tender, slightly pink centre. Perhaps the only gripe would be the portion size - given the somewhat hefty price, I would have preferred a slightly larger portion of tuna!
The Alsdann burger comes with grilled pear, mild blue cheese and walnuts. The blue cheese really stood out and made the dish - it was really creamy, and not too intense, and complimented the beef really well. The pear added some sweetness which the walnuts gave it a nice crunchy texture. One of the more interesting options on their menu, and definitely worth trying!

The Hans Im Gluck burger comes with parmesan cheese, parma ham, rocket leaves, and a balsamic glaze. The sweetness from the glaze and savouriness from the other ingredients complimented each other really well. The patty was quite lean, but still very juicy and wasnât overly seasoned which allowed the natural beef flavour to shine through. Their lunch specials (till 5pm) are pretty worth it - for $5, you can choose a side, and get a cold AND hot drink! Itâs also worth noting that they have pretty great vegetarian and vegan options too!

Eggs ân Things (located at Plaza Singapura, 3rd floor) are officially opening their first branch outside of Hawaii and Japan! Their pancakes are known for having a huge stack of whipped cream 15cm in height, which makes for a rather impressive sight. However, do note that the cream spreads out pretty quickly, so do not leave it sitting for too long! The cream was light, and not too sweet, while the strawberries gave it a nice sweetness and slight tartness. The pancakes were a little too dense for my liking, and I would have preferred them to be slightly fluffier. Whatâs interesting is actually the sauces which they provide - you get to choose between guava, coconut, and the usual maple. They really help to brighten up the dish overall.

So great to have KFC in a coffee shop! The chicken was so crispy and juicy, and not oily at all. They were quite generous with their honey butter powder, which surprisingly went really well with the fried chicken. The other flavours (spicy and soy) werenât that great - the sauce was a little too wet for my liking and taste-wise, not as interesting as the honey butter. Quite cheap for KFC and definitely worth the price!
