The grilled prawns with garlic, chilli and the savoury home made sambal from @kulto.sg was a highlight of the meal! Prawns were really fresh and plump, but the star was really the sambal. It was more like a really fragrant hae bi and really enhanced the umami flavours of this dish. It is a bit on the salty side but the crisp bread helped to mellow it out
This bowl of duck pho from @123zovietnamrestaurant was so comforting to have during the rainy days in December. It was really clean yet flavourful, and a nice change from the usual beef broth that we usually go for when eating pho.

Everyone always talks about the shiok maki from @kohgrillsushibar but I actually prefer their pi dan maki! Their pi dan sauce is one of the better ones around and the maki is always drenched generously in it. Have been eating this for years and has always been good every time.
Ringing in the new year with another excellent meal at @omakase_at_stevens ! This time, the closer was a delicious crab claypot rice that’s generously mixed with chunks of crab and drizzled with a rich crab miso sauce. It gets a little filling as this is the last dish but it’s worth making room for this.
The Whipped Ricotta from @caffefernetsg is great for sharing. The ricotta was very creamy, and matched super well with the sweet honey and roasted grapes. Simple dish but full of flavour - a highlight of the meal!
The fried eggs and tofu from D’Penyetz was so good! This heaping mountain consisted of freshly fried tofu wrapped in a sinful layer of deep fried egg. The tofu was really crisp but soft on the inside. The fried egg was quite reminiscent of those deep fried Thai omelettes. And when you pair the two you get a really amazing combination, especially when paired with their sweet peanut sauce.
The mee hoon keuh from @greenviewcafe is one of the best around! Went back recently and they now have a mala version, which was really good. The mala sauce was very savoury but not excessively spicy, and they were very generous with the meats and other ingredients (including luncheon meat!)
Tendons are everywhere but not everywhere serves tempura with cold udon. @tenyasg serves a pretty good cold udon, which is really springy and refreshing when paired with the fried tempura.
Sandwiches from @parkbenchdeli are still really substantial and satisfying. The Reuben is stuffed generously with tender beef brisket, and it’s salty flavours pairs excellently with the tangy mustard and sauerkraut. It can be a bit salty for some, but overall is still a really good sandwich
Hidden gem (sort of) at Ang Mo Kio! The prawn noodles from Penang Delights was super umami and flavourful. The broth is a little sweeter than the usual prawn mee but I don’t mind it. The chilli sauce added a nice kick as well. Also worth trying is their penang lor mee — slightly less herbal-tasting and a bit sweeter, but still really good.
Hard to choose a favourite from @nixtasg but their tres leches is a highlight and one of the best!! The cake is soaked in creamy, sweet milky sauce yet is not soggy, still dense with a good bite. It’s not overly sweet and keeps you wanting to go back for more. Must order when eating here!
